As long as BF2 is going to eat up so much of my free time, it would be nice be able to explain the valuable skills that it has been providing me to my wife. For instance, when she asks me what exactly was so much more important than fixing the toilet this weekend, I can bring out the list of totally awesome things I did on battlefield. I know what you're all thinking- why not point to the 700 global points you just earned? Believe me, I tried that. Thing is, it's hard to throw numbers at my wife...I've tried explain everything from baseball RBIs to "minimum balance owed to Visa" and all I get is this puzzled look and shrug of the shoulders.
Having painfully sat through olympic figure skating, diving, and gymnastics with my wife, it occured to me that what we are really missing in BF2 is "stylistic points". What I am imagining is a montage of pure ownage that captures all of the incredibly amazing things I did that day in BF2, perhaps set to the theme music for "West side story" and commentated by Mark Hamill
"Oh I just adoooored that flag capture with the knife kill. Those Russian judges LOVED it."
Here is my official unofficial style points matrix would look like -
Bunny hopper kill + 1
Point farmer kill + 1
The "holy hand-grenade", blowing up 5 or more at once + 2
"Sniping a sniper" with the AT rocket +2
"Running over" someone with a Jet +2
Knife killing a guy unloading his PKM at you point blank + 2
Chopper pilot sniper kill + 3
C4ing a hoovering chopper + 3
Chopper pilot sniper kill resulting in death to all the passengers +5
Killing a whole squad single-handedly + 5
Killling two jets that were on your six + 5
Killing the other attack chopper mid-flight with the tv guided missile + 5
Destroying an incoming jet with an AT rocket (yes, I have done this…and yes it was complete luck) +10
Killing an incoming plane with the chopper (only seen once on Kubra personally) + 10
please feel free to add your own to the list. Olympics, here we come!!!
