Yeah, being a Vancouverite I have that same old mutual rivalry against the Eastern side. I've been to Montréal a couple of times, and while the day atmosphere is muggy and depressing (not as bad as T-Dot though) the night atmosphere... oh jesus, I love it.

dude, i wish there was an english only button for mexicans. then immigration wouldnt be such a problem.

on topic, i like to hear the arabic. it helps me tell between the sides, and after hearing it for so long, i can tell what they are saying, and even when i cant, its printed on the screen, and the person who said it is flashing.

so, english only is for noobs.

1) Canada has 2 official language, french being one of them.
2) Like you said outside Montréal and Ottawa/Gatineau, everything is done in French. For the 2 city I mentionned, we do business in English because some blokes can't seem to be able to learn more then one language.... And being able to know more then one language is an advantage. Go anywhere in Quebec and speak english and people will understand you and will try to answer you in english and most can. You really don't know what you are talking about.
3) The Bill 101 is not a perfect law, but it does the trick and most people will follow the rules, not because they are force to, but because it makes good business sense to address 90% of the local population in its language. And BTW there states in the US that now use the same type of by-law to force people to use english instead of their native language (spanish to name one). All law are articial...
4) Mmmm, ROW (That's  rest of the world) are surrounded by Chinese and India based on what you said, does it mean we will all talk their language. USA have massif immegration of spanish speaking people, does it mean they are doomed?

Strangely enough in Quebec we are not as much worry about the "American Culture Invasion" as the rest of Canada... I wonder why.

And why 2050? Why not before that? Why are we still here? If it had to happen it was before 1960 where most of the political and financial power were in the hands of english speaking people.  Ouppsss, I talking about history and facts, that may be too much for you... go take a beer, it's will pass...
