Never got into Twitter, sorry. I won't be charged 3x as much, and neither will you. It's the kids starting in 2012 that have the pay increases. Which is one thing that annoys me about it, if it were all 6th formers out there protesting you'd feel a little sorry for them, but instead it's just a bunch of whiny students who love having a cause to get behind and something to feel important about. It doesn't affect them.
I still don't see why it should make a difference. We have student loans. You'll still pay them off over about 20 years. It just means perhaps people will think a little harder about whether they're going to university to learn or get drunk.
I don't think it's the best solution, but I'm also not naive enough to believe that in a time when the government is having to cut everything, students can continue doing their wanky film studies course at South Bank University, costing the taxpayer a fortune and producing nothing of value at the end of it. The money has to come from somewhere, the obvious place to start is the people who are partaking in the education.
