BF2S Forums Best Meteor Shower of 2010 Arrives December 13-14

This is pretty cool. They have a camera at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. You can see (well I haven't seen any on the live feed yet) but you can hear a cracking sound as they pass by, at least I assume the "cracking" sound is a meteor passing by.

It's go time on the east coast . 1-3 am locally is the best time.

Simply the best meteor shower I can remember... and I've seen about 40. They are coming from every direction, averaging about 3 a minute,. Simpy put, if you've got clear skies got outside, you will see it. The radiant should be directly overhead in the n hemisphere at about 1am .. but don't even stress about looking towards the radiant. I've seen them from one end of the horizon to the other. Some are mere twinkles, some are full on streaks. Don't miss it.

I've seen some tweets coming in from pretty far north. This is a massive shower. I think you would've.

Yes! .. the east coast has one more hour of peak. You've got until about 3am local time. If you can check it out. You won't be disappointed.

Going back outside.. I think the dog has sufficiently warmed up

gonna be tough to top this one.. you can prolly catch some more tomorrow night, but it wont be anything like tonight.. I saw 7 or so total last night. I've lost count tonight. There is no point in counting, just say about 3-4 a minute.

I've got a street light pretty close to me.. and they are still poping all over the place. It's gonna be a pretty crappy field of view looking out of a window though .

asteroid meteor shower>comet meteor showers me thinks. This one was unbelievable .

Metoers can and do appear anywhere in the sky .. they track back to the radiant (gemini in this case)

Yeah I don't even know, maybe it's because I'm in Alaska or some shit... Most people up here only saw a few anyways. So lame...

I went to several sites and found multiple times to go outside and check it out. I'm not going to stay up all damn night if I can't find two sites that agree with each other.
