There are times when i wish the commander would drop more than artillery. I think it would be cool if he could fire smoke or gas shells to give ur team cover to move in. The night maps in sf could probably use white phosphurus to light the place up so u can see the enemy advancing over that dark mountain there. Smoke would alllow u to move in without suffering huge casualties from snipers and the alikes. Just my suggestions what do u think?

Patch 1.3 will allow commanders to air-drop vehicles to squad members that request it - that will be interesting.

sounds good but just wait for mods
EA wont do that stuff but the mods will and they will do ALOT more
go 2 planetbattlefield.com
click bf2
click mods
and it gives a complete list(almost) of the mods that are out (first versions of course, usualy mini-mods so far)and that are already out

the air drop vehicles sound cool. But they won't be kicking tanks or apcs out of the back i don't think. There is something i wished for many times an apc or tank when u need one.

Just another suggestion not sure if it should be in this why doesn't bf2 have a transport plane like dessert combat. It was a mobile spawn point that you would run out of and parachute onto the enemy. I've seen how these things drop flares so it just takes a skilled pilot to keep it safe.

I do believe that they had those planes in secret weapons of WWII.
Giant mobile spawn point planes, pretty fun.

Uhh, white phosphorus is not used to light places up. It's a screening agent and it burns the skin off people

didn't realise that thought that it was another affect of it as well as lighting the place up.

+1. These ideas are alot more cool than air-dropped Humvees. But flares should be present for exclusive infantry usage also, on night maps.

I wish we could drop some good old Wooly P on the enemy. White phosphorous is used mainly to mark targets for helos or air. The burning of human flesh is an added bonus. It's actually some pretty scary stuff, my battery fired off a few rounds of it one time, then the wind decided to change direction...

Illumination rounds would be nice. Hell, any kind of round selection would be nice! Standard HE is great and all, but in a game where the 50m assured killing radius isn't there... Give us a selection. Some area denial rounds would be a welcome addition, like the ADAMS.

Sometimes I wish the commander can drop a RIB especially on Wake Island when the J-10s prevent any USMC players from getting onto the Chinese island. Then the Chinese infantry can take a boat and attack the artillery island or carrier without having to take three minutes swimming there and being open to sniper fire.

i think it would be good on the SF maps if the comanders arty dropped tear gas, it could have a message like....arty firing...masks at the ready
