I hear ya. I'm 6'3" and I always try to get the best seats that I can. I'm quite annoyed with BA at the moment, though. I'm flying with them soon and you can only pick your seats 24 hours BEFORE the flight leaves, despite that the fact that I bought my tickets in fucking May (first come, first serve, amirite?), almost a year in advance or I can pay some bloody fee so that way I can pick my seats NOW. At least BA tells you exactly to the minute when you can log in and pick your seats and do the online check-in deal so hopefully I'll be faster than my fellow travelers and get that.aerodynamic wrote:
I try to get the seats next to the emergency door so there are no seats infront of me, but not always i can get that.
got upgraded to business like twice, was good.....
If it's long haul, I always pay for an exit row seat. It's definitely worth it, and is a ton cheaper than Premium Economy. Upside of Premium Economy is the seats are wider, Economy seats are so fucking narrow. But 2+ meters of leg room is gooooood.aerodynamic wrote:
I hate air travel, unless you fly business or first (which lets face it, is almost next to impossible) you are cramped in incredibly uncomfortable seats with no leg room, a lot of noise, bored out of your fucking mind and the people next to you continuously waking you up to go to the bathroom 500 times as soon as you fall a sleep.
I mean fuck, its 2011. Economy class should have more comfortable seats.
The worst planes are Ryan Air or Easyjet....omfg.
Its like a bus....the only good thing is they don't cost that much and they are usually short flights.

I've always flown economy and find it perfectly bearable as long as you don't have a shitty seat partner and a laptop with long battery life
When I travel, I just want a plane to get me from A to B safely. I'll fly in a crop-duster if it can get me there sooner.
how much does the fucking first class seat cost christ you could buy your own cessna for the price of a 1st class return ticket.
It varies hugely, you'll often find prices vary from 1500GBP to 6000GBP in a matter of days.Stimey wrote:

no you don't buy a cessna, it's smarter to charter them
I love the price differences. I was looking for a flight back to Switzerland for vacation, and right now in the winter it's like $1200+ for a round trip economy. If I wait till mid March I can get a $620 flight, round trip in economy with a decent airline company (BA is $1000).

I think first class in an A380 is amazing. Holy crap. I think the full beds and suites that you get in the Singapore Airlines planes is a lot nicer, though.

@aero: It's not that bad if you fly with a respectable airline and know how to pick your seats.
Give in flight "entertainment" a whole new meaning.bennisboy wrote:

Considering that the long haul flights out of Singapore that that plane flies on are all 8+ hours long... why not?bennisboy wrote:

The reason you have a shit seat in economy is because you want to fly cheap.
Running an airline is fucking expensive. I know for a fact the companies like BA wouldn't make any money on flights if Business and First are empty, even if Economy is rammed. The only reason they run short-haul routes is to feed into the long-haul routes, where they make the money.
You want to get round the world in 20 hours? You gotta pay. You want to get there comfortably, you gotta pay a lot more. Business seats take up at least twice the room of an economy seat, plus they get extra perks.
tl;dr stop being poor

You forgot to mention the reason is due to the cost of aviation fuel, jerk.PrivateVendetta wrote:
