Has this happened to anyone else:  You're playing in a game, with every other program that could possibly be running in the background turned off.  Then, without a hint of lag or any kind of trouble at all, the game crashes, kicks you out of the map AND closes BF2 completely!  This happened to me for about the 10th time today and I nearly threw my headphones through a closed window.  For my window's/pocketbook's sake, please let me know if you can help.  ... or if you've had the same problem - Misery loves company.

Don't know if this is the right place (I don't think it's a patch bug)... sorry if it isn't.  BTW, awesome site.

usually the game crashes when there isn't enough ram to suport it or something.. (i dunno heard it somewer) so might as well add a extra stick of ram in ur pc or close some background programs

Happened to me a couple times, the quit is so clean I thought another program minimized BF2, but nope, just a complete crash... a fresh windows restart and a good disc cleaning did the trick.

I've had this happen to me. don't think its a game bug, but rather a glitch in the system its being played on (ie your own computer). This isn't a knock against anyone or their system, so don't yell at me for this opinion... computers are just squirly.

Just like he says   It used to happen to me a lot, so I defrag once a month, do a little housework, cleaning etc, and since I've been doing that, zero crashes.

never had this problem on bf2, however...i will say that i had this problem on my last pc.  it turned out to be a ram problem.  problem wasn't of not enough ram but bad ram.  i fixed it by taking out my ram sticks and cleaning really well the contacts (both on motherboard and ram stick) between the motherboard and the ram stick.  that solved my problem...i know, strange but if you've had similar problems with other games then give it a try.
