A few days ago, I was over at my friends place and had a go on his account, which is a L.Corpral, and for some strange reason, I just sucked, normally, I would average 50 using default, but I just couldnt get that much, (I played multiple rounds btw)

Another thing ive noticed is that when I got my Veteran Knife (Sorry, Just had to do that) I became extremly better at knifing people, suddenly 7 knife kills and I pwn?

Might be a placebo thing or mabey something mental saying, Yeah! Now I that (Insert hard badge name here) I should be able to do something a fraction of that

It's probably a combination of the "mental block" and practice.

I know when I try for a badge, the fact that I need x amount of kills before getting it weighs on my mind a lot, and sometimes I get a bit flustered. Like the 3 consecutive rounds where, trying for Veteran Assault Specialist, I got 21 kills...true story...grr...anyway...

In the case of expert/veteran knife and pistol though, practice weighs in more heavily. I think before I decided to try for the pistol badges, I rarely if ever pulled it out. Maybe to snipe distant targets as Engineer or AT (this was pre-1.2 and the SMGs were even worse lol) but definitely not as a primary weapon. But now, after getting Expert Pistol the handguns seem...well, not necessarily powerful, but not as much of a joke as they did before. All the "practice" (i.e., bringing a 92FS to a DAO-12 fight) eventually made me more confident in my pistol skills. I'd think it's the same deal with the knife as well.

Could be that playing on a differnet PC had something to do with it?? Differnet mouse, different senstivities, lack of unlocks, or it could just be the anti-placebo (if there is such thing) effect of having a much lower ranking account.

yeah. I love warlord, I swear there isnt a badge I dont think I have gotten outside of warlord. or WHORELORD as I like to call it.

My sight on this is more:

That ur foccusing that much that every mistake u make can be fatal. for example
you do not have SF but you want that L96A1 sniper from a dead body, you try so damn hard that ur K/D ratio suck that much after the round. and if ur not focused on it u suddently pass on a enemy sniper u shoot the bastard, voila u got the l96a1 for a moment.

or indeed u want that Badge. you focus on it that much that everything in the round goes wrong. and if ur not foccused and after a while u notice shit! made 6 knife kills alreadly lets get the 7th and Blam you got ur badge.

not true. and true. With the knife for me as I kept trying for expert yes I did fail alot until last night. I finally got the timing right and bam I was knifing people like crazy. Yes going for a badge can make u a lil worse I can see how u got that, but with me the more I tried with it the better I got.
