AMD Phenom II 955 3.9GHz
4GB OCZ reaper @ like 1497Mhz (from 1333)
Gigabyte Ma790xt-ud4p
WD 320GB HDD
Sapphire 4870 512mb

I was thinking either a 6950 or a new mobo with sata III and getting two HDD's and Raid 0, or maybe new mobo and memory, my CPU is quite fine for the time being, What should I upgrade that would make the most sense, I could also just get another HDD the same as mine and RAID 0 it

Depends what you are after. If you want better gaming performance then a new video card will make the most difference. But if you need the extra/faster storage then go for that. I wouldn't bother upgrading mobo/memory.

Errrr, the "worst" thing in that set up is the video card.
What about sticking another bigger hdd in for music/pictures/movie storage so you can free up and speed up your other hdd?
I'd type my pc specs out all fancy again but teh mods would remove it. Again.

"best thing to upgrade"

the first answer is always RAM.

your second would be HDD

next would be vidcard

and last, mobo/cpu combo - but if you are asking "best thing to upgrade?" i'll bet you have a budget you*re not telling us about . . .

Why RAM? I'm running 4gb and even with this price drop recently I can't reasonably buy more sticks.

What are you playing/doing that really requires an upgrade?

My E8500 C2D + 4GB DDR2 + HD4870 512mb runs nearly everything on high... Can't see why you'd want to upgrade it yet...

What about a nice shiny new tv/monitor or a new sound system or a ps3? Your PC seems pretty fine to me

Id say the hard drive is a serious bottleneck for you. Get an ocz revo drive for the os and games and use the 320 for media storage.

So what you're suggesting is that higher performance components command higher prices? Is that a recent revelation for you?

No.. I'm saying that just like those other ludicrous top end hardware, SSDs are not yet at a reasonable price/performance level

How kind of you to universally define what performance is worth. I'm sure that the half of a $400 PC you're getting instead will serve you well.

The fuck... I looked last week and 80-120 GB SSDs were $400-$700

Still, $300 for 120GB OCZ Vertex2 is helluva expensive when you consider you can get 5TBs worth of Spinpoint F3s for that money...
