Comparing it with livestock specifically bred for food production is a bit different. We're omnivores and we eat cow meat.
(How animals are kept and food is mass produced is of course worrying.)

But those dogs were apparently only needed for the business opportunity that the Olympic Winter Games brought.
A business that obviously doesn't last forever.

This is true, I found out last night that all three sled dog companies in town brought in extra stock for the Olympics, the other 2 were able to distribute  the extra stock to other companies in the province after the games, this one did not. Thats fucked up, if your going to expand your pack by 50% for one month, you should probably have a  viable out afterward.
