Bullshit deaths, which are mostly attributed to bugs.
I was playing Mashtuur earlier today. As I joined the server, the maps switched, so of course I had to sit through the tedium of loading and verifying data for a map that had already been changed, only to get to load the next map. As you know, when that happens, the game freaks out and you get either a losing or winning melody depending on which team you were assigned to and what the results were before the map changed, followed by that annoying score/ready screen coming up in the middle of everything. I was in the middle of a firefight when that thing decided to pop up, and when I finally got out of it again, I was miraculously alive with 2 bars of health left. The last two people in the fight had by a bizzare twist of faith shot eachother dead with their rifles, and being a medic, I tossed myself a medkit and went to work reviving. Or so I thought. As I pulled out my defib, the thing that all medics fear happened to me. The pads were locked, and the ammo counter on them said 0, so I patiently waited 5 seconds after which it finally did the loading sequence, and I went to pad a friendly.
Nothing happened.
I had been sitting on top of him the whole time, and I padded straight down onto him. His corpse wasn't even close to expiring, but nothing happened. I went to pad again. The pads were stuck. Again patiently waiting 5 seconds for them to reload, I went to pad the last guy who hadn't expired. I padded him right in the back with a second or two left on his counter.
Nothing happened.
Well, I lied. Something did happen. I got blown the fuck up by a grenade. Thank you, EA/Dice. Thank you a whole fucking lot.
