I'm pretty excited to see what happens in the morning. Seems like shit has potential to get real.

Apparently Mubarak has about U$70bn stashed around the world so I reckon he'll be pretty comfy running away.
I think thats the exact amount of aid the US has given Egypt.
Near enough, give or take a few billion here and there.presidentsheep wrote:

Of course they back Mubarek. The leadership is well off. Now the grunts? That may be a different story.Kmar wrote:

You know it was actually funny to watch the dance unfurl with this situation. Neither the conservatives nor democrats took an absolute position on this at first. But as Obama started to lean more towards the protestors we saw an equal amount of diametrically opposed conservatives shift to an opposite view in the media. I saw these views filter down through the typical subscribers as they regurgitated them across the blogosphere and social networks. The vast majority of americans don't give a flying Fuck about what happens in egypt. They'd rather be perceived as right, even if it meant that whole country burned to the ground. It's the ugliest form of narcissism there is. Good luck finding people to admit it though. Especially here.DBBrinson1 wrote:

@jsnipy... Bamster backs the uprising, I don't.
Who is saying that it will be sudden?ghettoperson wrote:

The bamster is the definition of narcissism. However, I think he was way behind the rest on this issue. He was busy with a going away dinner party, followed by a superbowl party while the SOS (Hildo) was on vacation. He was rightly slammed for not being on board with the Iranian uprising issue though. But why would he support one revolution of 'freedom' and not the other? Every now and then he shows his colors and proclaims his true allegiances.Kmar wrote:

Behind the rest? Who was leading the charge, and what was that message? Actually it would seem the primary message was the same in both revolts from Obama. A rather boring keep it peaceful position. Name me a politician that isn't a self promoting narcascist. Please. That goes for any so called talking head as well. I never understood how so many people can be so eagerly trusting of political commentators whilst maintaining that the government is out to get them. Talking heads openly and absolutley maintain their opinions for personal gain.DBBrinson1 wrote:

I guarantee you the average American doesn't give a flying fuck about that region -just as much as the talking heads are dying to be right (as usually the case). Were you veiled asking me if I care or would rather be right? Personally, "fuck egypt and fuck that entire stone aged mentality, barbaric region" I could care less about them and hope Israel cleans their clocks if necessary. However, I do care about the manipulative sons-a-bitches that use the guise of religion to enlist/brainwash people into 'jihad'. I don't want any of them, anywhere on this planet and that's why I 'care' about Egypt.
Most of the slacktivists. I dunno, I just don't see him being replaced by anyone better.Kmar wrote:

I read somewhere that that one of the opposition leaders said that egypt needs a year of peace before democratic elections.
