i use the ak101 whenever i can, and if i cant i prefer the l85 over the g36 or m16.

however, g35 will own at long range.. quite accurate indeed. g3 is also a very good assault rifle..

Yes, I agree. When I first started playing I thought the AKs sucked, but truth is I sucked back then. Medic with an AK is generally the way to go. The G36E is a fine choice in just about every situation but close quarters. In those situations it's my experience it fails me regularly whereas the AK never lets me down. I can wax 2-3 guys with the AK up close and in the same situation with the G36E I'd be lucky to get even 1 kill unless I'm gambling on head shots.

-sigh- the more threads/posts there4 are about weapons "Pwning all others" the higher the chance that EA will Nerf it inthe next patch....

Look what happened to the PKM.. It went from Crap to Great.... Got Nerfed.. and it leveled out....

I've never been a AK guy.... And I have stayed away from it simply because I dont want to be dissapointed when EA nerfs em in 1.3...........

Well I've been playing as assault recently, but mainly using the G3 (god damn I love that gun). May have to give the AKs a go now though.

G3 canot be beat,

but infact yesterday as a medic i was experiencing prob's with the L85 and i switched to the AK and to my surprise i now prefer it unless i expect as lot of long range battles!

Anyways, I have also recently come to LOVE the AK101. I usually pick the L85A1 instintictively as medic, and lately I've been choosing the AK101 when I'm on MEC. The gun is absolutely DESTRUCTIVE and sometimes I feel like I'm cheating when I use it.

Its a pity you cant use the AK-47 on Sharqi or Karkand. You'd expect those pesky Mec's to have an old stock of AK-47's in some abandoned Vodnik...

Ak is only good at CQC to medium range, so if you are a karkand/Sharqi fan yeah, they perform well. Get into a longer ranged battle on levels like Mashtuur and with the AK you will be lucky to hit one round 1 in 5. M16 works wonders at that range on single shot, the G36E is the most flexible as you can run-and-gun against AK folk just as easily. L8 is more specialized, but seriously you'll stop wanking with your ak when you find out the pistol is a better choice at medium/long range and farther.

but back OT, i perfer the 47 over the 101, but that's just me, dont' really know why, but i do

IMO the G3 sucks ass b/c of it's ammo capacity. I don't "spray-and-pray", i aim at the guy, and fire in 5 ish round bursts. But for me, it takes about 12 shots or so to kill one guy, meaning that the G3 FOR ME sucks b/c it can only kill 1 guy

sure it does 3 more damage (whoopie?) but it still takes 3 and 4 hits to kill, so that doesn't matter to me

I love the AKs, like the L85A1 for counter-sniping, the G36E for its extreme accuracy. I usually skip the M16, but maybe I should give it another chance. Its burst is VERY fast. The AKs are the most flexible though.

When I get jumped in CQB, I have a bad habit of "spray-and-pray," but with an AK that's OK!
