If you already read my other thread about SATA 3, you might know that I am trying to install Windows XP (I know its old) on to what was my secondary HDD. After the Windows initial setup was complete (The now vintage blue screen with yellow percentage bar) it says the HDD is damaged and setup cannot complete?

Now, I have never had any problem transferring/reading/writing when this served as my secondary drive, so wtf?

Is there a chance there is a problem with the other hardware? (It is all new stuff)

Should I run some kind of HDD diagnostic tool? Acronis?

Check for any old partitions that are causing an error?

I'm not sure what to do at this point. But I am hopeful with help

Ok, well I tried installing a different HDD, and I get a different but some what similar message saying that Windows cannot be installed and the disc is damaged. But they are not damaged!

There must be a hardware problem with the board/RAM? Or maybe something not set up right in BIOS? I read some of the reviews on Newegg, and people complained that you have to configure stuff in BIOS manually to make it work but I am unsure of what they were talking about. And the manual is useless
