Ok, so me and 6 of my friends play BF2 a lot at a computer gaming center where we live.  And my question is, do servers look at TKing and stuff by IP? because a lot of times, one or more of us will get banned for "excessive teamkilling" when that person hadn't TKed at all or only once, but others had several times

is that how it works? or is it by account name?

just curious as it's rather annoying, not anything you can really do about it, but it would be nice to know the answer

thanks in advance

I'm pretty sure it's by  acocunt name, not positive though.

I'd say it's done by the IP. I have been an admin on one of the servers once.
Hmm... When thinking about it, it's probably both. IP AND accountname.

Hope this helps!

It's both, but mostly IP bans.

You can ban by both and even by cd keyhash.  I am an admin with www.just4funclan.com.

You don't get banned, most of the time, for excessive team killing, just a temp ban.

You must have a CD hash or IP to ban someone in BF2.  You can not do it with an account name or anything else.  It can be done at any time (for one TK) by an admin if he is watching the server while you are on, or it can be done automatically through server based programs that monitor # of TKs, bad language or other criteria.  Bans can be set for any time period the admin desires or the program is set to apply.
