Note the low texture quality to the right of the UAV hut.

Can't say i've particularly noticed anything else like this, all my settings are maxed out. And my previous cards I didn't notice that sort of thing. (previous cards in order, BFG 7900GTX OC, Sapphire X1900XTX, Powercolor X1900XTX..  see http://forums.bf2s.com/viewtopic.php?id=22561 for why)

This is on a Gainward Bliss 512MB 7900GTX.

I think it may be overzealous drivers, like the Catalyst AI (on ATI cards) thing.

What do you lot reckon?

not to be mean but i have a 7800gt co and it looks better than that. You should have everyhitng maxed on 1600x1200 res, 8xaa and 16x af on. If so then something is wrong because i see no AA on yours.

if his pc didnt support that kind of card then 1. he'd be an idiot for buying it 2. it wouldnt work at all.

also, it looks like you have AA off.

I have AA off but have set it so my card determines the AA and not the game.

In the game it only goes up to 4xAA but my card goes to 8xSAA.

However, when i take a screen shot it goes to no AA and i have to Alt-Tab out and then back in to make it work again.

Erm, I am using anti-aliasing..  the ingame 4x settings.

I think this is a driver issue, get nothing like this that i've noticed in other games. I'm downloading the beta 87.08 forceware drivers and going to try them over the current 84.21 I have installed.

EDIT: Make that 84.66, the 87.08 reading up more seem almost alpha. Well, 84.56 since they're WHQL.

why even worry about it? everything else is fine and its not like there is NO texture.. maybe thats just how it looks? but i would assume its just bf2's programming.. i dont see the big deal lol
also bf2 sometimes has fun changing peoples settings... are u sure u have them all on high? but really... theres no problem here imo

I've just been through 3 faulty high end graphics cards, I want to make absolutely positively sure number 4 is fine.

Something tells me it isn't your video card that's the problem. I think it's beyond coincidence that you've had 4 seemingly faulty video cards.

No, trust me.. the cards (well the first was) were faulty.

First card had definite problems that were confirmed by ebuyer. (artifacts, texture corruption etc)

The second and third had identical problems that only occured with the 6.3 and 6.4 catalyst drivers. At the end of the day I thought "nuts to it, i'm going back to a 7900".

I think you need to try new drivers, or a re-install.
