Do any of you know of a reason why neither will function on my computer? I install them, go to run them, and nothing happens. I'm running XP SP3 and both say that they are compatible with it.

Try uninstalling them. That might fix the problem.

Are you running a 3rd party firewall or is port 80 restricted/limited in any way?

What Anti-Virus software are you using? Try disabling it when launching the browser...

I've uninstalled, reinstalled, tried different versions, cleaned out my registry, everything. The only firewall I have is my router. I have MS antivirus.

Firefox runs without issue. So does IE.

Try downloading avast antivirus... There could be a virus blocking your access to browsers, sounds unlikely though....

Have you tried Safe-mode with networking?

run procmon, analyze and see why they crash (registry misses, file issues)
