Will wait for inevitable Steam sale on Bulletstorm. Absolutely want to play it, though.
No idea what that is.
I hated showtimes in BP.
I'm not sure how they did it but Criterion somehow managed to make the Crash mode of Burnout worse with every entry.
Burnout 2 introduced it and it was pretty much perfect. There were 30 preset levels, and each one required experimentation to get the best crash score on, because all you had was your car and the moving traffic. All it needed to be improved in future versions were larger crashes and a better physics/graphics engine.
Burnout 3 introduced pickups and controlling your car in mid air, and this essentially just turned crash mode into 'Pick up the x4 token' and removed all the fun and experimentation from trying to get the most points on any given level.
Burnout Revenge. What the hell. Not even going to go into this because it was so retarded. Basically it was a golf minigame. It was awful.
But somehow they managed to top that with Burnout Paradise. Bounce your car down the street for 15 minutes. After you've done it once there's no draw at all to do it again (But since i'm a completionist I completed every showtime road rule in the game). Why lose the varied pre-set crash junctions you used to be able to compete on? Why lose everything?
Everything about them that made them great originally is gone. I really hope they make a decent version in the next Burnout game.

I agree. The crash mode in BP isn't all that great, and it gets old after a while. But I, too, am a completionist, so I try to do them whenever I can.
Doesn't sound like I hate it as much as you do though I get little giggles of joy thinking about how I'm just a hunk of metal flying down the freeway smashing into oncoming traffic.
I still really really enjoy the rest of the game. I couldn't put it down when I first got it on PS3.
@Finray: oh, so I guess that link actually works. I assumed that since it wasn't ending in .png or .jpg or whatever, I wouldn't be able to use the img tags. Silly me.

BP, worst racing game ever
which is why i love it so much. it's a cheesy arcade game with an emphasis on crashing. this is not GT5.
GT5, worst racing game ever
The best spamathon RTS.
