Why not just make a lunch and bring it with you? Then you can eat whatever you like.Kampframmer wrote:

I take a refillable box, filled with all kinds of nuts (cashew, almond,..) to school everyday. I snack through them during classes. Never get hungry anymoreKampframmer wrote:

Yes, thats what i'm doing. I'm just trying to figure out what to bring that could replace my regular lunchSenorToenails wrote:

aw man, you guys really planted an idea in my head (went through my 4 dream layers straight into limbo on this one). I wasn't even considering getting a home gym, but now...
I've been thinking about it more and more and all the benefits that it has. the only downside so far is money. I have plenty to buy the stuff, it's just that i hate spening money (I'm not really cheap, when i spend it on something, i spend it good). But i've got all this shit saved up, the onyl thing i'dd use it for is to go on vacation duting the summer, but now that I have a job again I've got plenty for that and more. So i figured why wouldn't i spend it in a home gym, that I can use for years?
Also: Any of you guys know a good store that ships in Netherlands/Europe thats sells good stuff for a decent price?

Why do you need to bring a lunch to replace what you normally eat? You're at work 8 hours a day...but should that mean you need to 'settle' for something else those days?Kampframmer wrote:

I work 4 10-11 hour days every week, and I bring a lunch and a dinner each day, both what I would eat if I were at home for those meals. Salad, vegetables, piece of meat, etc... Why pass on the chicken? Just cook it before work (night before, whatever), and reheat it, or prep it in a way that can be eaten cold.
You don't need to destroy your eating habits just because you aren't eating at home!
good pointSenorToenails wrote:

It takes a little bit of time to make the meals, but you can definitely do it. I keep a bag of fresh lettuce and some vegetables (broccoli/cauliflower/brussel spouts/etc...) in the fridge and then have some main entrees in a few containers. This week I had a chicken with pasta, pot pie, and a burrito (I had some repeat meals between now and Tuesday, but that doesn't have to be the case) along with salads and vegetables with every meal. Other weeks I've brought in tuna salad, chicken salad, spaghetti, steak....pretty much anything I eat at home, I make extra and take it to work that week.Kampframmer wrote:

Great suggestion there ^^^
You'll probably save money in the long run too, instead of buying from the restaurant.

So I'm not nearly as srtict with my diet as I was. I eat well most of the time, just not counting calories or anything like that. I also don't get the guilts if I eat something like sausages (like I am for dinner soon, at work).
I'm also going to just take whey, fish oil and a multivitamin from now on, and leave out the creatine, glutamine etc.
Anyone think the above is a good idea? Or should I still be counting cals? Just because the more I read the more conflicting advice there is.
I think rather than getting ripped I just want to be strong and lean now. If I end up with a six pack that'd be awsome but I've still got ages to go I feel. Rest of my body is good, everyone I know has made mention that I'm looking a lot slimmer, so that goal is definitely being achieved

I don't really see a problem. If you really want to lose weight/BF you really need to count your calories and watch what you eat. But if you just want to get stronger, you'll have to eat more and something like sausages every once in a while won't hurt.
As for the supps, it seems okey. I don't take creatine and glutamine either and I'm still quite happy with the results i'm getting.
But try and keep track of your weight to see if you're still doing a good job. Once you start gaining(see if its BF, although that's hard to check), you're cheating too much.

Yeah I'm trying not to cheat. I did have some calamari last night but I hadn't eaten much that day.
I didn't eat much today either, so I figured a few sausages would be alright. As far as day to day eating I've been solid with breakfast and lunch and half the week dinner is good. I avoid takeaway as much as I can but I have been getting the odd Subway when I really need to eat and haven't got time to go home to prepare something. Still drinking plenty of water. Not really cutting, though I would like to lose some belly fat. But that's not the prime goal right now, strength/muscle is (in that order).

anyone know of a good way to track body fat percentage? right now i'm using this:
http://www.amazon.com/Omron-HBF-306C-Lo … amp;sr=8-2
but it just doesn't seem too accurate

I've been using some calipers, not sure how accurate they are though. The scales I use have some BF calculator in them but I think they're way off the mark - there is no way my BF percentage is at 27%!!
Hrmm. I have a question. When I dip (not that deep) I get a very strong pressure on my sternum (chest) on the lowest point, too much pressure to be healthy IMO, anyone experienced?
maybe you're fatter/skinnier than you thinkHaiBai wrote:

really though, I thought calipers were supposed to be the most accurate.
i'm not questioning the actual number, it's just that my body fat fluctuates a lot from day to day. it just seems inconsistent.Hurricane2k9 wrote:

i was 180 pounds like 9 months ago, and after going down to 140 pounds over the summer, i had the exact same body fat. i just don't understand that
I think callipers are the most accurate if you know how to properly use them.
I've only had my BF checked once afaik. twas 11% but it was at least 2-3 years ago. I just make a rough estimate myself. I think i'm at 11-10 right now. Once I've reached my target weight of muscle mass I'll probably cut down to 8% (and actually measure it)

I think I got that too a few times. Maybe it was poor form?Jebus wrote:

If i go deep i feel something pop out near my right collar bone and pop back in when i go up. Naturally, i don't go deep, as it feels bad.Jaekus wrote:

Never had chest pain though. But any form of joint/bone(?) pain should be avoided
Yeah I found it strained my shoulders so I stopped doing them.
I've basically mixed up routines for a while, just getting a feel for it all. I'm going to stick with the SL5x5 as long as I continue to see results. Only done 4 workouts but I'm feeling stronger already. Also notice my posture is improving, always a plus.

In my dips i notice there is a strain on my chest (that's obv supposed to be there) but also a bit of strain around my collar bone. It's not unpleasant by any means and I have no plan on stopping my dips but that's where i feel it most. Nothing around the sternum.
Got a tub of ON Extreme Milk Chocolate today. Had one shake, I think it's a little better than the double rich chocolate IMO. See if I get tired of it over the coming weeks.
double chocolate, extreme chocolate? What ever happened to just chocolate?
It's not gym junkie enough
So, I've been looking into a home-gym.
I found a website, made a 'shopping list' of what i need, checked the price (565euros, will be more over time as I'll be adding shit like more plates etc.) and was quite satisfied with how easy and cheap it would be.
I called my father to see what he thought of it (gym or no gym, it's still his house) and he thought it was okey for me to do with money whatever i wanted. he did point out one or two things though. he said it will be probably start to smell so bad in basement (that''s where i have the room for it) that it in time it would become unbearable as there is little to almost no air ventilation down there.
he also said that it would take a lot more discipline for me and that i probably wouldn't keep up with working out as much as i do now.
He is right on both points. For the smell i figured i would place the shit in the backyard, as it would be nice to work out in the fresh air (depending on how easy it is to move all the shit around of course) and with bad weather would go to the basement.
As for the discipline part he mentioned how he knows plenty of people with home trainers and shit like that, that got one at home and never used it. Now what I do is of a whole different level than some old guy cycling on a home trainer of 10min once a week, but still. He might have a good point. It will get very easy to start slacking.
Opinions?
