Does anyone know how to change the loading music for BF2 ? I'm pretty sick of the crappy MEC & CH music and would prefer to listen to some Judas.

I've already searched, and seen that you can go into #:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\common_client.zip and replace "load_mec_music.ogg" and "load_ch_music.ogg" with your own music - yet when I try this (yes, the music is in ogg format with the correct filename) it simply plays no music whatsoever.

The music I plan on listening to is 3mb (OGG format) in total - do you think this could be the problem

Why dont u just set the volume of the music to 0% and put a cd into ur cdplayer/DVD player/ take your MP3/ whatever and listen to that whilst loadin the map?

Judas priest and... because I'd prefer the less-hassle version tbh.

The issue is that the original ogg files are encoded with specific serials. You need to duplicate those serials when you do the ogg encode of your music. I wrote a tutorial about replacing music awhile ago...

Of course, if you change these files you will no longer be able to play online since the md5 check will fail.

I see... That sucks. They should add in the functionality of the ability to change the music... I guess I can live with none for now anyway.

Thanks for the help, voodoochild.

[why md5 must be so very agitating, i do not know]

EA does things like this so no one can change any part of the game... you suffer, they make millions, good plan?

Its a shame it won't let you play online, some team america music would fit in well i think
