The customisation was brilliant and innovative, it's taken that part of it, and the good parts of a hack 'n' slash game and created this. It's great, from what I've seen.

I had a lot of fun with Spore, but I didnt pay full price for it and I also can ignore a lot of bad aspects of a game it if does something new.

I played Darkspore yesterday and I couldnt choose a third squadmember so I quit. What little I played seemed like yet another hack and slash. I assume the customisation of the monsters comes later because I encountered none.

I played a ton of spore, but mostly on the character editing screen. Once you started the game, it was ruined by the endless scavenger hunt for body parts that was in no way as fun as item hunting was in Diablo. What's the point of a creative game if you're going to limit it in such a manner?

So I downloaded the beta with Taz's key, can't get it running, after a bit of Googling you have to have lots of free space on your main HDD.. I had 2 GB.. >.<

Not long to go!
