This whole karma system is stupid, considering how it can be abused, it's a poor indicator. Here's how it goes:

-Mods and admins get high positive karma because people like to asskiss

-People like me and bearz and Vengence get really negative karma because we ask for it

-Normal users get 1 or -1 karma because some people are kind and some people are tards

Anybody can just -1 some poor fucker and ruin his karma. Likewise, people can +1 someone for no reason besides asskissing or some sort of "karma trade".

Nyte, as for you, I think people are impersonating you because your ego is a tad too large. Reminds me of the Volkswagen commercial with the people sitting in their cars with megaphones.

Frankly, the karma system should work like GameFAQs, where it's a measure of whether you behave well or not. You get one karma point each day for having an active post on the forums and logging in each day, and mods can remove karma when they moderate a post of yours.

maybe deactivate the reason thing so you can't impersonate other people

Turn off sigs when you are at work.

I think I made a post in the orginal Karma announcement thread by Chuy about how gay a karma system on a forum is.  Basically it leads to attention whores who will do anything short of sucking a cock to get a +1 or people begging for -1's so they can show what a "rebel" they are.  For a quick example go register on www.roosterteeth.com and then go to the community stats where it show the highest karma holders.  Then go look at thier profile.  Pretty damn sad if you ask me.

Me, personally, I could give two shits to tuesday about my karma.  I have spells where I am a flaming asshole tard and my karma will dip to -100 and the I have spells were I post good, thoughtful and informative threads and the such and I watch my karma go back to 0 or 10.  Do I go home and masturbate to my karma page?  No.  I masturbate to my stats page....duh.

Karma does not make your penis grow larger.  The only people who care are the ones who obviously think it will.  It's a number on a website, not the number of times you will get laid in a year.  Deal with it.

As far as the negative karma-ing goes, I don't care about that (In fact, I deliberately try to get negative).

But when someone begins to impersonate me to give me a shitty image, that's when I start to get a little miffed.  It's like back in my CS days (where ANYONE can change their names to impersonate one another in the game), I built up such a rep that people started being "me" and acting stupid like blocking doorways, TKing, losing their C4 over a cliff, flashing their own teammates etc.
