metroid prime 1? didnt play 1 much but loved 2 and 3
Metroid Prime was a pimp ass game back when I played GameCube.
Pikmen was my all time favorite, though.

Yeah it's 1. In my opinion it's the best by miles. I didn't like the direction the other two took. I've only actually played a few hours of the third (Don't have a Wii) but the second was very unimaginative. It was so.. structured as well. So rigid and formulaic. Every world had 3 keys you had to find, and then there was an ungodly amount of backtracking through the light and incredibly lazy dark worlds.
Metroid Prime 1 just flowed from one thing to the next. There was a lot of backtracking in it as well but at least you didn't feel like you knew exactly what was coming because of the previous 3 worlds. Also there was dialogue in 2 and 3. It was just text in 2 but it still detracted from the experience, and then 3 just went full on voice acting and I just didn't want to know. In 1 it's just you on your own exploring this abandoned place.
I just wish the emulator ran it at full speed all the time instead of giving me insane slowdown every time I go in a large room.

I liked 1 a lot when i tried it but never bothered to play through it myself.
2 was good until some boss you battled while in ball mode. failed so much i stopped playing. the light/dark world and backtracking did get annoying sometimes -.- been years since i played 2
3, loved using the wiimote so much more than the gc controller. only time i found it better in a shooter.
i never really payed attention to whatever story there was.
like the music in all the games

Don't get me wrong I enjoyed 2. But it just wasn't the same.
And despite how bad (thematically) MP3 looks I would like to play it.
Oh and I far far FAR preferred the GC controls. That's why I don't want to have anything to do with the Trilogy pack. Whenever it asked me to wave my arm around to use the grapple beam I just shook my head in frustration.

Bulletstorm
I was gonna hire that the other day. Think I might just now.
eh actually just watched a trailer. maybe not. The screens gave off a different vibe.
So what happened with your Huron game?unnamednewbie13 wrote:

You won't see it here, but I've been cutting Europe off from "jump" islands across the Atlantic, and from colonizing the coast of Africa. If I felt like it, I'd circle all the little buggers. Maybe later.
I had hoped to form Germany, but with hanging onto colonial claims, I couldn't build a big enough force to attack as well as defend. Biggest mistake so far is taking out Novgorod, because I now share a border with the Golden Horde.
One Teutonic Order province by default is animist, but you're never going to be able to let a big enough religious rebel force build up to take over your capital. I had to edit the opening game file to change my state religion from the start. The Holy Roman Empire was immediately foisted into chaos at my sending non-Christian missionaries into my Catholic provinces. Hanseatic League didn't kick me out of their trading circle, though.
Not nearly done with this campaign, but things in my end of Europe will be slow for awhile. I'm going to stop colonial efforts in North America, South America and Africa long enough to start absorbing the small European kingdoms. But before I do that, I need access to the Black Sea. I can get at it through, if I remember right, Moldova. It's going to come in handy if I have to tangle with the Mediterranean powers.
EU3 may not look like much from an action RTSer's perspective, but a lot of work went into setting up all the minutiae. Here's an overview-screenshot slideshow:

Still in progress. I just switched to a nation where you could actually build a navy from the very start for a change. I'll post more Huron stuff when I can bundle in a European encounter.ROGUEDD wrote:

This goes with the second screenshot:
Yeah mine struggles with this in medium-large areas. Sometimes it's 60fps, other times it's like bullet time.
My attempt to emulate Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader are less successful.
I seem to have a draw distance of about 10 feet, which in a flight game isn't ideal:
I wonder where the deflector tower I'm supposed to be destroying is.
OH GOD PULL UP.
Then I took a screenshot of the resulting explosion of my X-Wing, but it came out black for some reason.

'Cause it goes black when you die.
The irony of guns, is that they can save lives.
I've been really missing my GC these last few days. You can maybe tell.
Damn that looks like fun
if i can get mine to stop crashing i'll take some screens
everything i write is a ramble and should not be taken seriously.... seriously. ♥
