dub sucks
no actually dub is pretty awesome. Check out Scientist, Augustus Pablo (RIP), Tappa Zukie, Bush Chemists, Easy Star All-Stars (they do a great version of Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon), Sly and Robbie, etc. Good stuffHaiBai wrote:

That was pretty funny.
i don't understand why americans are parodising this... you are the sole inheritors and perpetuators of the shitty club dubstep
it's like you're mocking your own self-sustained disease

What, so it's dumb mocking it because they're from a country that produces a lot of shit dubstep? That makes sense
no i mean it's a uniquely american bastardisation and i don't understand why they're mocking 'dubstep' as a genre.
kinda like the american hipster/anti-hipster thing
both camps consider themselves ultra but from the outside it's just a retarded cycle

but it's not like you can't mock stuff that your own country does, we do it all the timeUzique wrote:

it's not a country thing though... they're claiming to be 'dubstep xpertz' (yeah i know im missing the point of the joke, but this is just a tangent)- but what they're talking about has nothing to do with dubstep. it's this weird aggro shit that only caught on and propagated itself in america, by americans. i suppose if you're not pernickity about terms and stereotypes, then this is funny. it is funny. but i just don't understand the whole specifically american stereotype.

dub and dubstep are different genres.
yes. well done.
'dubstep' and 'dubstep' seem to be different genres, too, though, when you consider the use by music-people around the actual scene and the general vaguer use by people (mostly americans) on youtube and in popular culture. the term doesn't really have any relevancy or meaning as a genre-designator anymore.
