I've got a sweeeeeeeeeeet computer, and when I'm home I have to share a goddam wireless internet connection wit my bro and parents computers. I however have got an ethernet cable slammed in the back of the router so I dont get gay ass wireless lag, and I do pretty well. On my brothers computer tho which isnt so great (all settings have to be on low) I do exact same if I plug my ethernet cable into his, but if I jsut use wireless I begin to suck, so I reckon its more to do with the internet connection you've got than the computer.

PS: anyone know how to get rid of wireless lag?.......apart from using cables

Certain things about having a good computer do give you an edge and an advantage, but I don't think they necessarily make you a better player (a good mouse might help, but I don't know, cause I have a crappy one and haven't gotten a good one yet).

The main things are reducing lag, increasing frame rate and visuals to help you discern targets better at distance.  Also, as someone mentioned a good sound card and set of headphones gives a definitate advantage over people that don't have that.  The ability to tell where people, vehicles, and artillery is coming from, and how far away they are, is VERY nice.

I also love being the very first person to spawn ALWAYS.  I think I'm always the first one on a server....unless I'm playing some overseas server or something that has ridiculous ping for me.

No, a bad PC makes all the difference.  What kind of question is that?

I know when i turn fraps on while flying and my fps goes from 40-50 to 20-30 i start to suck Maybe i'm not used to the low fps, not sure but it sure feels a lot more contrained trying to play with the lower fps.

I don't really have the fastest PC myself..

P4 2.8 ghz.
1 gb. ram
Radon 9800 pro. 128 mb.

Wich is why I use vehicles and armor so often.Helps to level the playing field a little for me.

i use a wireless a mx1000 mouse. works just fine. needs charging every 3 days though sometimes less.  like 5 days. depends on how micu you use the damn thing. it is 800 DPI stock. 400 dpi is best for sniper. 800 is all around good. my roomie has a G7. it's badass. 2000dpi for choppers and tank turrents. on the ground its a bit to fast at 2000 though.

forget all the naysayers on wireless mice. it works just fine. althougha  wireless joystick blows, avoid em like the black plaque.. i have a saitek wireless(got it free from my old job) the damn thing never wake's up out of sleep, ogtta slip the battery in every time i wanna hop in a jet. it just plain isnt better then a wired stick...but yeah

cant say for wireless keyboards

would imagine them suckin battery life like a tramp

My specs are 1.6GHz Pentium 4, 512MB of RAM, ATi Radeon 9600 256MB overclocked.  We can't all have money when we want it.
