How has the legalisation of guns not been mentioned?
I think that's a point that differentiates us.

I live in Syd now and I've been to the US... LA has a shit ton of fatties compared to sydney lol. NYC has very little fatties comparatively. Girls in Aus are hotter too bro and are friendlier.Adams_BJ wrote:

I disagree. Guns should be for authorities only.Cybargs wrote:

I hate the fact that people even think they need a gun for "protection" - I can see their point of view, but it opens the possibility for loose cannons to easily obtain said devices.
Who doesn't enjoy a muck around at a gun range though
For civilised life, no.

I respectfully disagree. I believe that you're average person's ability to own a firearm shouldn't be constrained because of a few hypothetical 'loose cannons'. Then again, I'm kind of an extreme civil libertarian so the idea of denying a person a right because of the actions of others gets a giant 'NO' from me.

You vastly underestimate the amount of loose cannons.Macbeth wrote:

Loose cannons don't seem to be a problem in the southern U.S. states where 'gun culture' is most prevalent and restrictions on ownership and carrying are least existent. The "Deathwish" Charles Bronson types are complete myths.

We have too many bogans here in Australia. Imagine if they all had Moist nuggets and kalashnikovs.
Shit, we cant even trust them with fireworks.
New Zealand has the best gun laws IMO.

noice

What are those gun laws?
The irony of guns, is that they can save lives.
You vastly overestimate them. Gun violence is generally confined to... minorities here in America. There are millions of law abiding gun owners who do not commit violent crimes every day in this country. With the hyperbole anti-gun nuts like to use, they're all serial killers and murderers in waiting. Please.tazz. wrote:

America is verrry diverse. The deep south is really where all the fatties are.. and they are in high supply. It's enough to jack the whole nations bmi up .-Sh1fty- wrote:

I think as far as pop culture goes Australia has always become slowly more American as time goes on. As a slightly ridiculous example, 15 years ago noone spelled arse, ass. And noone called bum, butt. Now about 1/3 of the people I know do. Also, a lot of the newer tv shows we have now are fairly obviously based on US tv shows, only not as good (Rush is one that comes to mind).
That being said, Australians will always be Australians.
