DICE: Just make sure to bring back the claymore to BF3:

/sarcasm.

/sarcasm.

But if there are no claymores, then BF3 would be DIFFERENT from BF2, which we cannot allow.
claymores were good, get over it

They were designed to defend areas, and thats what they did. They defended flags, sniping positions, and they were also designed to ambush.Doctor Strangelove wrote:

Maybe instead of proximity activations they should be trigger activated.
If the women don't find ya handsome. They should at least find ya handy.

If you could destroy them nobody would complain.
Spoiler (highlight to read):
Except the sniper fags of course.

You could destroy them in 2142 as well as go prone past them, most balanced Battlefield game IMO.ROGUEDD wrote:

you can also run past them if they are placed poorly or duck back behind the door if you see them. They weren't that hard to counter.
I guess for some people they were.

i always followed a squad mate named 'Meat Shield' whenever we thought there were clays. he always got pissed that i played engi . . .Adams_BJ wrote:

So they promoted conservative play, sitting on your ass getting a few spare kills and little more. And why bother attacking an objective if you know you'll die if you get to close?
Amazing idea.

and so everybody went playing sniper all day long for 6 years ...Doctor Strangelove wrote:

I like the fact that the engy can?/could "repair" away the claymores , made him a bit more useful and therefor encouraging mixed class squads .
It wasn't that hard to cap a flag with claymores at it, get over it and calm down.Doctor Strangelove wrote:

yeah because claymores were used defensively
there were absolutely no snipers who would run into battle throwing down claymores, then run away
absolutely none
just like DICE intended

Claymores sucked at defending flags. Friendly spawns on said flag... -4 points; hooray.
For those that ran "into battle", there is like a 3 second arming where you can just run straight over them making them mostly pointless. As for defending sniper positions at the top of ladders ect. Yeh they were useful, though they also prevented anyone form your team joining you.
They are a great tool to anyone who has the intelligence to use them thoughtfully and precisely. For everything else they got you lots of deaths and lots of kicks for TKing.

In the end, this is the only reason you argue for claymores.Doctor Strangelove wrote:
