BF2S Forums Need help with flying skills.

There's a couple of good flight guides hidden in the forums. There's some in the "Featured" section, but you could always just search for 'em.

Otherwise it's practise that's the key really. Start your own empty server or post 1.3, co-op server to practise, (coz then you don't get online-arseholes shooting you out of the cockpit etc.)

well, im sure that somebody with a lot more time out there flying will respond to this, but my suggestion would be to first get a joystick. i have an extreme 3d pro, only like 40 bucks, works like a dream. this will help with control a lot, i flew the first couple hours with a mouse before i got fed up and bought a joystick, helped out a ton!

as far as bombing, if your in the bomber, you have 5 bombs and they have retarding fins which slows down their forward momentum and their drop rate, so you can drop them pretty much at a straight flyover just before your target and you are pretty much guarenteed a hit on your target. also, they are good for carpet bombing the enemy's last control point of a popular spawning location for massive infantry kills.

as far as the fighter goes, i have found that dive bombing works great for nailing tanks and other targets like that. i fly at a high altitude with my bombs on to highlight any targets below. when i get one, i usually juke up then down right on top of the guys, dropping at the latest possible time without getting myself in the blast radius. i usually follow through for a half second until the sound of the bombs releasing is finished so i dont throw off the aim on the bombs. its a lot harder than the bomber, but practice makes perfect and i know i have improved since i started flying and im sure you will too.

I have a joystick. And I have tried flying with it, but its harder. so are there any pro's flying with a mouse, or does fly with joystick?

I fly with the keyboard and mouse but i havnt tryed with a joystick yet [i'd like to have 1 tho] I put sensitivity on like 4 for Jets and i fly pretty gd. [im not a utter jetwhore tho]

increse your mouse senstive.. and when you try to bomb come in whit some kind of 45 angel and use your mg... but you need bit timing skill to drop the bomb...also try to drop one bomb

also watch the planewhore movie... you may get some knowledge from that..

i just use the keyboard, no mouse.... if your overshooting drop earlier, u gtta remember the bombs will continue at the speed ure going, so drop before u pass over them. even better at an angle - cos then u can judge it

Take the BF2 book in the BF2 CD case. It will teach you.

Start with the MiG when doing this.  Then switch to the SU 34.  The MiG has 2 bombs. so it will be easier to guage your accuracy.  The SU 34 has 5 bombs.  Done right you can get all 3 with the SU 34 in one bombing run.

Also practice straffing the carrier.  It can help you when trying to shoot choppers out of the sky.
