True. What I meant is that they don't have enough demand for a 335d in manual in the NA market for them to profitably incur the (low) cost of adding a machine on the assembly line.
I find that ironic, because you can special-order a manual if you want. So they have the manufacturing capacity, but it seems that nobody's yet clued into the fact that not all North Americans are fat lazy asses.

I like exotic cars. Here in the UK they are not very common. I guess it's a chav'mobile in Australia, but here people don't recognize them. Here they are sold as Vauxhall VXR8 and I've seen maybe 2 on the road so far.

In the UK Vauxhall VXR8 cost about £40k.. it's 65.1k US Dollars or 62.1k Australian Dollars. No way that chavs on benefits or low income can afford that.
Nissan GT-R cost £55k here... / 89.6k US Dollars / 85.4k Australian Dollars. All thanks to our government and taxes.

Now the price to insure both cars is about £1.5-3k a year, tax £1k a year afaik. Cost of petrol in the uk £1.35/litre (ron95), £1.43/litre (ron99) and rising roughly by £0.01 every 2 weeks.

Oh great, cars made here are still cheaper in the UK. The HSV clubsport starts at 65k, doesn't make it a non bogan car.

And bogans are not Aussie chavs. You can be a millionaire and still be a bogan (Lleyton Hewit is a good example), and being a lowlife criminal thug is not a prerequisite. Also check your conversion rate... $AU > $US.

holdens are nice car for the aussie market since theyre cheaper than their competition due to tarrifs and taxes and shit. I'd love to have an Audi S4 or a BMW M3 though.

You don't get all the weird electrical glitches over there? My fiancee had a Jetta for about six years and just about everything started going wrong with the car near the end. Even had to replace the catalytic converter at 70k miles.

My first car was a Camaro. My second car was a Ford Explorer. So yeah The Camaro had a ton of niggling little problems that always crept up. The Ford was solid as a tank.

I would buy Ford before I ever bought VW just based on personal experience.

It must be an import issue then because VW in North America has serious issues with quality. I've heard many, many horror stories about extended maintenance issues, especially after 2000 or so.
