My trip computer says I'm averaging 10.2L/100km in a 4L 6Cyl.

The trick is to not floor the shit out of it.

Because your politicians want to control your actions via taxation. You're too stupid to make the choice of buying a car with good fuel economy on your own so they made the decision for you
that is true, the Netherlands has the highest extra tax on petrol in the world, €0,72826 tax per litre  and that is without 19% VAT
I think Germany is a close second. Austria is rather cheap in comparison though, around 1,40€ last time I checked.

Having just Google'd it, it appears a cold air intake for a Sierra costs between $150-350. Someone do the math on how many miles it'd take to pay itself off.
It cost $105.39. I get 14.7L/100km(city)(haven't driven highway enough to average it out) which for a truck is dam good. I have a truck because it was my grandpa's truck, haters gonna hate. its an 03 with 38000km on it so why wouldn't I want it. Also keep in mind the 14.7 is from the winter using 4wd.

A lot of the people with pickups use them for towing sleds or dirt bikes around. They come in damn handy sometimes. I would love to have a Tacoma at the moment.

I want to get a 335i sometime soon. Probably after the wedding.
I was looking at the 335d, and then noticed that diesel was at least $1 more than Premium UL.  WTF????

On the CR-V.  What shitbox?  4 cylinder yes, but it's a 2.4.  Rather spritey for a small SUV for city driving, and adequate cargo space.  And f*ckin reliable.  Reseale value is amazing here in SoCal and I have dealerships constantly wanting to buy mines.

They're reliable as can be, and yeah, the resale is also sky high. It just doesn't feel manly enough for me

Pffft.  My two boys are proof enough of my manliness.  Yeah, I know some big, tough guys, but they can't talk trash to me because they only have girls.  Besides, I'm asian, so I can get away with driving a Cr-V.

about 7l/100k in my 2.0L Jetta, when I'm careful. It jumps to about 17 when I'm in a hurry, which is much more fun.

14l/100k in the 2.8L Audi, which runs on premium ($1.61/L here in TO)

Depends on what fuel I'm using, but around 11L/100km in a 4.0L straight 6. If i'm driving like a toss around town it's more like 14L/100km. Honestly, fuel barely factors in to my budget because all my trips are short and the traffic around here is really good.

Also, the people who drive a huge truck because they tow a dirt-bike trailer occasionally are kidding themselves they need a truck.

I get 10-11l/100 around town and ~8 in the country.

Does anyone know what the best rpm range is for fuel economy? I know you shouldn't rag the shit out of it, and you shouldn't up shift too early, but I guess it also depends on the engine, right?

Each engine has its own sweet spot but generally between 1800-2200 rpms is ideal. My CR-V has a fuel consumption gauge that shows me the derivative mpg
