Ok here's the deal, I read the ubar stuff for each of these badges and I can't get either of them.
The air defense one, I spent an entire map on a stinger, died a few times and killed some people, no badge. I have 30 global hours on air defense and had more than five minutes on the stinger on that map. It may not have been 5 minutes without getting off the stinger though.

The helo badge is hard in the first place because many maps don't last fifteen minutes in the first place, however I got in a helo and hovered at 500 feet for like 17 minutes then crashed. Then I got in it again and let someone shoot me down because it says, "have been under fire while operating a helo" or something like that. No badge. Is there a kill requirement that no one knows about? The other helo badges have kill requirements. Hmm. Anybody give me any tips for these? Thanks.

I dont know about now, but I got all my badges (minus the C4 badge) before the patch.

I got my helo badge quite a while ago, but I got a few kills.  I dont know if that was just coincidence or not.

As for the Stinger badge, I think I spent 5+ minutes in the stinger to get it.  I just remember sitting in the Stinger for pretty much an entire round on Dalian Oil Plant.  It was a pain because snipers kept trying to pick me off (being a medic, I just healed myself lol).

yeah it seems there's plenty of info about badges before the patch and now many of the requirements are different and no one is really sure. Ugh I'll just play helo whore and camp the stingers one day I guess even though I hate doing both thanks

If they told you being under fire blah blah blah... well u got it just wait for the stats to update

I never got the badge, how should I have to wait for it to update? Badges are shown on screen when you receive them. It never appeared.   I was talking about the ubar thing when I said under fire. That's what it says as part of the description of the badge.

edit: well I just logged in and it appears that I did get the helo badge after all. However I got no indication in game. I guess not all the badges show up in game when you receive them? oh well now I have to get air defense.

you can get the air defense badge using the mobile AA, which makes the kills and time pass much much easier

also, the ground defense, you can use mounted machine guns, so the ones on karkand are good for that, i got mine prepatch though, so no promises on that one

The AA's on the aircraft carryers don't work cause i sat in one of them for 5 mins n the golf of oman and then i sat in a normal stinger for 5 mins and i got it
