For the past week or so my ping will jump from my normal ping (about 14 on EA WC, and 70 on EA EC) to 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600 and most commonly 700. It seems to happen at random and lasts for a couple of min. The lag is so bad my soldier will start moving around the map. I use a Linksys wireless network adapter which connects to the main router in the room next to me. I also have Comcast Cable, and lastly it happens on every game I play. If you can solve my problem I'll give you karma and some prize.

is someone in your network using limewire or other such things where people can upload from you? also spyware? I'm not going to say exactly how to fix that except I know that I just have to go disconnect my brother's limewire and run spybot if that happens to me.

No LimeWire on any computer, yet this ad "save now" thing does come on, which is spam but I don't think it could effect my ping that much.

I have a wireless router too.  Unless you have a program that conects your computer to the router, try clicking run, type services.msc scroll down and turn off windows zero config.  You do have to turn it on every time the computer starts.  There was some other thread that said changing the chanel of the wireless router can help.

try all above. optimize ur TCP/ip settings. get TCP optmizer. it should help some. sounds like some program is using all of your upload bandwidth. not sure if u have cable. but if u do, that will really slow down ur download stream. to a halt sometimes. if ur upload is maxed out.

check for virus, spyware, adware.. clean the puter up. see if that helps, could be some trojan sucking badnwidth up.

go to dslreports.com, run a speed test under tools. check your bandwidth and ping times

trying repairing the network, flush DNS etc. u can access that on the lil network icon in tray.

it could be a faulty peice of eqiupment. the latest linksys routers are really garbage. if u have a v5. get rid of it. and get a v4 or 3.

could be defective
