The final flight for Space Shuttle Endeavor is scheduled for lift off 16 May 2011 07:56:26 EST
Countdown details.

As most of you know, there is only one more shuttle launch after this. This shuttle launch will carry commander Mark Kelly, husband of Congresswoman and Arizona shooting victim Gabrielle Giffords. President Obama and his family is also expected to be at the Cape for this launch. The last time we had a sitting President at KSC for a live launch was 1998.

In February Shuttle Discovery's final flight drew over 500k viewers to the small town of Titusville, Fl. I imagine the last flight of the Shuttle program in June will approach 1 million spectators. I thought about going to the Cape myself, but really the traffic home would be unreal. I can watch it from my backyard. Although, that's not nearly the same experience, but it will have to do.

And they were all in front of me trying to drive out of that small village after the launch Oh, right. I still have that video to post of that launch.

The President is not going to be there. He'll be surveying the tornado damage in AL. That's a good thing, less streets will be shut down.

Ted, the last shuttle launch, STS-135 is set for June 28. That is summer storm season here in Florida. So I consider that date tentative.

We're getting hit with a storm right now.
I hope it clears by tomorrow.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain... Time to die.

No launch today. Issue with auxilliary power unit 1 heaters. Engineers need 72 hours to assess the issue.

Tomorrow's launch attempt will not happen. An Endeavour news conference is being held at 2pm EDT today on NASA TV.

In the news conference they said it would no earlier than the 8th. And even then they are only going to talk about when to launch on the 8th, in other words the 8th isn't the next launch date.
