I don't consider BC2 a clone of COD, just stole some things from COD
The irony of guns, is that they can save lives.
Yeah BC2 wasn't a clone at all. It was just more suited to the console market, which i hope BF3 won't be.

I played only in a period of time between 2005 and 2008.. and + this week (about 5 hours). Roughly 2000 hours in 3 years. I always worked full time. I don't want to count how many hours a day that is haha. In March 2008 my son was born and I stopped playing the game until a week ago when I found out that BF3 is coming out this year
BF Blog - Highlights of the Week, April 29

Frostbite 2 Engine Powering Need for Speed: The Run
DICE's mighty Frostbite 2 engine, which powers Battlefield 3, is expanding to other EA titles. It was announced today that Frostbite 2 will be powering Need for Speed: The Run.
Medal of Honor developer, Danger Close is also speculated to be working on an unannounced FPS title using the Frostbite 2 engine as well.

Electronic Arts and Criterion Games downshifted and punched it in last year's back-to-its-roots racer, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. Now the publisher is putting Black Box behind the wheel and DICE's Frosbite 2 engine under the hood for Need for Speed: The Run.
The Run puts players into a high-stakes, cross-country race from San Francisco to New York, and with Frostbite 2, the same engine powering DICE's upcoming shooter Battlefield 3, EA is promising to make it a stunning visual journey.

Thanks DICE, we really needed at least one more trailer with that exact same Fault Line footage.
I want to see some new content. Paris or New York, perhaps?
Also, I'd like to see another Medal of Honour. That was a pretty decent game IMO.
As for NFS, meh.
I thought DICE werent going to give Frostbite to other devs?

Yeah, considering how they've said modders would have a hard time with it.KuSTaV wrote:

gee thanks hibi but if i wanted to read the battlefield blog i would go read the battlefield blog
Well, EA owns DICE.KuSTaV wrote:

I bet they can always come up with some new oppressive contract or threaten them to otherwise dissolve the studio.
In one of the early interviews with the executive producer he said they were keeping it within EA, DICE is using another EA studio's animation engine for BF3 too.
I´m not so sure Frostbite is a good choice for a racing game tbh. Movement and driving feel wonky often enough in BC2...

I dont feel frostbite is a good choice for anything

So I've heard improvements were made to the PC release. I'll believe it when I see it.
I hope they add tons of medals, badges, pins, ribbons! Its the point of the whole game!
Yes, as long as they take some major effort to attain. Not the god-awful tons of pins you get for just playing a single match of Gears Of War 3./facepalm.venom6 wrote:

not if they are the killstreak ones like 2142. gay.venom6 wrote:

make them take some effort, like bf2, but not like the ridiculously long ones of bf2. A nice compromise of the 2.
2142 did have difficult badges that took dozens of hours to get.Adams_BJ wrote:

The Pins were designed in such a way that you could get several in one round.
I still need like 80 hours to get my expert tank badge! So what? Bf2 is lasting a looooong time
Yeas i hope they wont add 400 hour requiments!

And here I thought Bf was about shooting others and winning the rounds. Silly me.
