Question about Kills Total & Streak

This might be better posted in the Help section but here it goes.

Does the "Streak" bit mean the numbers of kills you've had between deaths? And how would or could you interpret a Kills Total & Streak of 1,276 / 418? And how could someone have 1,276 total and 1,152 be from knife kills?

I was just going through the All Leader Boards, and some of the stats just jump right out at ya!

Streak = how many kills before you die, i've got 63 these were all with arty. when you have 60 kills 0 deaths you streak at that moment is 60 then you die so its 60/1 your streak is again 0, so it remains on 60.

and yeah some stats are just crazy but uhm ?
