i had met him at the Santa Monica Pier, some time after the second picture was taken. For someone so involved in Hollywood, he seemed a nice guy, and down to earth.

Remember him in the old Superman movies were he acted as Lois Lane's boss "Perry White". At least he lived a long decent life. (1922–2011)
