Hey Dr.Battlefield I think I played a bit with ya yesterday if you were in the Raw! server.

I do a bit of both depending on the flow of the game.  I wrote a guide about front-line sniping so I am partial to that.  It only makes sense to me that you get more kills if you go where the enemy is.  I also find that headshots are much easier when an enemy soldier sees you, stops, and then looks right at you.

It depends on the map with me, I can't help but have my favorite spots.

Some of these are just headshot city, I find I don't like to go high up, its alway the first place gamers look.

Sharky on top of the Crane or TV station is were you will never find me, but I do get alot of kill on other snipers on The TV station, they are lit up like a christmas tree on there.

Yeah. I always have fun advancing on foot up that little ridge south of the road leading into TV stations and getting easy headshots on snipers that pop up trying to take me or team mates down from the roof of the stations.  sharqi is a sniper's paradise.  There are a lot of good, low, medium range snipe spots.  You can really take advantage of the fact that combat here can be pretty intense and get very close with maintaining a relatively high amount of safety.
