So it's not directly against the rules, but they CAN enforce it.3 LOCAL (PRIVATELY RENTED) RANKED SERVER RULES MODIFICATIONS
These are rules that are not enforced upon in EA’s public ranked servers but may be modified in privately rented ranked servers. These rules are decided by clan administrators for those servers and as long as they do not contradict any global rules enforced by EA are considered valid for those servers.
This would include but not limited to:
* § Artillery fire or bombing runs on main (uncapturable) bases may be prohibited.
* § Prolonged or sustained attacks on main (uncapturable) bases (i.e. spawncamping).
* § Using the Transport Helicopters to take flags (Blackhawk whoring or flag hopping).
* § Impersonating clan members.
* § Using C4 on jeeps, or other fast moving vehicles to take out other vehicles.
* § Clans may change or customise rules, provided they don’t violate the above ROE rules.

The fact that a ROE even exists sucks in my opinion, its a cop out by EA, don't bother making the game do what its supposed to, just write an obscure document that most players will never know exits, then when someone does something that the game allows but shouldn't, EA can point to the document and screw you over.
Since quakeworld, servers have been customised or rules added so that people can play specific types of game. It isn't cheating, the only reason it could be considered a problem for this game is that it means you could get medals faster. I really could not care less if someone gets their medals on a real server or on a knife/pistol server, if you actually respect someone for achieving something as pathetic as meeting the requirements for a pretend medal then you are very easily impressed.
I believe that those who complain the loudest about stat padding or whatever you want to call it are actually the most jealous. Why do you really care? Because these pretend medals are devalued? They have no value. Or is it because you see people achieving something you want to achieve, but having an easier time at it?
yeh ive got everything ive got legit (not much i know, but proud of it) and the feeling of satisfaction u get when u get a badge or ribbon u really really want is great, the only 1 im having trouble with is the E.O badge, and because i wanna get it legit, ne of u guys have ne tips 4 me getting it without padding?

If you don't know there is an RoE, you shouldn't be playing the game. The first thing you should do when playing an online game is find out what is right and wrong. If you'll notice in that other forum, I WARNED them that they were breaking the RoE, and they continued with attacking comments and basically stating I was lying. I tried to show them the light, but they continued. I hope they get whiped.
Truthfully, I don't care what they get. I'm not impressed by anyone in this game based on medals. Medals and badges don't show skill, so therefore mean nothing to me. I like getting medals for myself, and I think it's nice having those medals, but it's not something that I dwell on. I have a life outside of games, so it doesn't matter to me.
Also, when people tell me that "using only your pistol/knife in a pistol/knife only server" is "pure skill," I don't let that go. I'd like to find their logic in that statement, really. You'd think facing tanks and LMGs and Assault Rifles with your pistol/knife would be more skillful.
it doesn't matter if they're aware of it or not. when you install BF2 it asks if you've read the terms and agreements. in order to continue, you must check a box and click next. you cannot continue unless you acknowledge that you've read and understand the terms and agreements.
now, i never read the stupid things, but the BF2 one i did read. anyway, the point is that even though they're not aware of the RoE, they said they had read and understood it just like the rest of us did.

I personally have never been into one on purpouse, but once me and a few clan mates where messing about with just KnP when our server wasn't full enough to play properly, then another of our people came on and made the server full enough for it to start properly, but because we were having a laugh we carried on, now is that really so bad? So I made 50-60 points.
So out of 35,752 points are you saying that around 60 is so bad?? I mean people who just play on them to get points all the time obviously shouldn't be, but the entire idea of the game is to have fun, so why should you get to ruin their fun? Do their stats really matter to you? All they do is provoke arguments and cause agro.

I honestly beleive that the stats system in this game is the best and worse thing in the entire game, I really like my stats because they are a testament to myself and they give me something to show for the 300+ hours I've been playing and they allow me to set goals for myself.
However I couldnt give a flying f*** what anyone else thinks about them, I hate the whole culture that has evolved around people criticising each others stats, many people (myself probobly included) have poor stats, and many people have very good ones. But that does not mean that anyone should have the right to decide that they should insult something that I have put alot of time into.
Do you see anyone moaning about knife only servers on CS? No you bloody well don't and it's becuase IT'S FUN! Do you see people complaining about knife and pistol only servers on COD2, F.E.A.R or Far Cry? No you don't. And what is the thing that these games don't have that BF2 has (apart from vehicles and all that before anyone gets funny with me) IT'S STATS!
I have always played games to have fun, now if a group of people who want to stab each other wish to do that who are you to stop them? If it wasn't for the stupid stats no-one would give two s****. As for stat padders, well I can't see the fun in that, but the only reason why anyone would ever want to statpad is because of the stats themselves.
