Because there´s no need to. TES has such a big name by now, that enough will buy it even without distinct features or huge improvements. Hell, I bought Oblivion although I hated Morrowind and played for about 2 hours only.

the only thing that makes me nervous is the fact that right hand is mapped to right click and left to left. my right click finger isn't as trained as my left. i guess ill just get used to it.
This part was obviously geared toward consoles but I'm not complaining

Pike's hardly the only long thrusting weapon in M&B. Try out some winged hussars in MBFS.

Moot point, anyway. On foot, pikes obliterate (unless you get shot).

idk I just see other various combinations being overall more worthwhile than a pike.
if this engine is anywhere near as easy to mod as gamebryo they'll have pikes out in 3 months.

M&B lets you carry multiple weapons. If I want to fight on foot, I usually go sword, shield, pike and small grenades. You're not just going to be stuck with a pike, and neither are properly outfitted FS mercs.

If you rely on just pikes, of course ranged units will be able to skirmish you into the dirt. Great thing about FS mercs is that you can outfit each guy with a long stabber and a firearm if you want.

With what I know about the story of the game, I think being a vampire or werewolf as well would be a bit redundant.

It would be nice to have a mode where the AI takes control of the hero and you get to play as some poor schmuck trying not to get eaten.

Going to buy this game for sure! The dev already states that you don't just chose to become a vampire, instead you will encounter them and if you get bitten, you'll eventually become one.

So in a way you are the poor schmuck trying to get away.
