2 Suggestions for Sniper improvements

ok, 1 is serious, the second one isn't so much but i think it would be cool/funny

#1 Ok, we all know that snipers don't really get enough points for what they do, and i thought that a good way to add to the amount of points would be to add an additional "Teamwork" ability thing or whatever. It would be "Headshots" and each head shot would be worth an additional 1 point. And to make things easier, it wouldn't just be for snipers.. that way, snipers earn more points. You can tell which Snipers are better, AND it might help eliminate the Aim Bot cheaters b/c their "Headshot" numbers would skyrocket. It would also be cool if you had the Pistol or something, fired, and got the "Headshot!" thing before the "You killed ThAt_OnE_gUy"

what do you think?

#2 ok, the not so serious one . I think it would be kind of cool to add another one shot kill area.... the crotch, i mean, how fun would that be as a Sniper to aim for the crotch.. fire, and have him die? yes, you can do that now, but they have to be damaged for it to work. Maybe they could also add a new death animation where you crumple up in a heap if your "Groin Shotted"

no? well, i thought it was cool

so, discuss i guess

its a good idea but i dont mind how many points i get i like 2 kill and kill i do with sniper i can get the least of 40 points around

I think the headshot thing is good one and perhaps should be considered. To add to these points I think that that snipers should reciceve an additional team point for sniping a squad leader (note sniping with rifle nothing else) this really assists the team as you take down the mobile spawn point (particularly with the new system being introduced) and it is after all how a sniper would operate in real life, taking out the officers first.

an Aim Bot is a hack/cheat program that allows people to get head shots no matter where they shoot someone

The same topic was talked about not too long ago....

We can get enough point as it is if you are not the type of sniper that stays in the same corner the hole map.

I'm not the best sniper around... but I usually end up in the top 5 player in a map... You have claymore, use them for more then just protect your back.... protect flags instead... 1 kill + 1 flag defence...

So I don't agree... Assault don't get team point either, neither anti-tank.... You must be agressive with those kits to gatter more point and help your team win.

true it pees me off that u dont get team points for damaging tanks especailly when they just sit by a supply crate. And wit assault you do have to e aggressive but u can still garner alot points when used correctly and you CAN be helpfull to the team when using this kit despite popular beliefs.

No way. For every sniper that sets himself up in a good tactical spot (ie. defending a squad trying to take a flag) and makes lots of helpful kills, there are 5 more just camping and missing most of their shots. All an extra point would do is encourage even more people to hole up and miss their shots rather than capping flags and/or fragging the other team. Why give someone an extra point for using their weapon? Also, don't use the excuse that other kits have other ways to get points, like the medic and his revive points, because they get those to compensate for their time that is taken away from shooting and capping. If you want an extra point, cover a flag and get the extra Defended CP point.

Snipers are good class to play on large maps, what about if create map for snipers only? claymore on flangs support on lover flors and snipe teams on the roofs, regarding points i think its a good idea to give extra point for deactivate claymore by engineers (but may slow down game)

now how many of you guys that say "i can easily get 40 pts a round as sniper" actually play as sniper and DON'T get in vehicles?

i've played my fair share of this game and i've come across like 1 guy that got in the Top 5 by just sitting, so i really doubt that

unless you play on 16 player servers on 64 player maps... in which case 40 pts is major suckage

Edit: chittydog does have a good point though, so maybe the +1 Headshot point should only be for sniper rifle kills... as other classes could rack up some good points like that just b/c they fire more shots, and thus have a higher chance of getting a headshot by random chance

the Law of Averages you know...

Snipers...

1. Practiced aim + moving around = high kill/death ratio.
2. Claymores + ammo crates/packs = enemy infantry hell. Kill score increases.
3. High perches + contested flags = suppression of enemy infantry & flag defense points.
4. Grenade! Kooblia!
5. High concentrations of distracted enemy snipers = plenty of easy headshots.
6. Headshots aren't so difficult that consistant headshot scores would necessarily be taken for use of aimbots.
7. Localized damage would never be implemented, per EA's preference to avoid too realistic violence in this franchise.

A somewhat accomplished sniper can get upwards to 30+ points per round using nothing else but that kit.

Someone been playing CS Fragmod too much? And when you're on the opponent team, you can't tell which is the SL, especially with Squad Rotation nowadays.

I do... close 60% of my overall kills comes from my weapon and when I sit in a tank... I'm an engineer.

85hrs as a sniper, 66hrs with the rifle, add the pistol and claymore time and you get close to 85hrs. I did sat in a tank as sniper from time to time....

2/3 of my kills comes from my rifles.

But getting 40 points as a sniper is not difficult... Snipe+Pistol for close range, Snipe only long range and use your claymores. If I don't get 40 points, I get pissed

FYI, I'm not even in the top sniper here

FYI... High grounds are not your friend as a sniper, people expect to see you there.

dudes, 40 pts in a round as a sniper is not kinda difficult, when i play sniper (and not sitting in a jet or heli as usual) just playing karkand... i get like 70+ scores in a full 64 player map... just use ur claymores on the ways were always someone passes by and throw grenades... if u got your 2 kills with the claymores just ask a support for new ammo and drop another 2 claymores... then lie down on the side of the road, shooting everyone who u see... or walk with ur team to the flag with ur pistol (works fine)

so yeah... i've had 1 person answer my question

i'll just assume that the rest of you just hop in vehicles. It's really sad, 90% of the people that i see get in Tanks/APC's are snipers... dead serious, and it's so dumb

so i applaud all of you who actually SNIPE as snipers and use your clays, etc

i'm just used to asshats who get into vehicles and can't do shit as a sniper

so i apologize if this is a bogus post

it just seemed to me, from my experience, that Snipers didn't get enough points. But i guess your all just better than the Snipers i come accross

PS- anyone else other than Skooby have a comment on the Groin shot thing? jw

IMO i dont think that snipers should get TP for headshots - as said, sometimes somebody is standing still in a place far, far away doing nothing, so in effect you are getting free Team Points (TP). I think that if you kill somebody that has killed or wounded somebody w/in the last, say, 5-10s that you should get TP for "saving somebodys life or ending the violent rampage". Just an idea, hard for me to put it into words...

with that same logic, they wouldn't have 'Support' or 'Heal' points. Because all you do is just drop a little bag on the ground, and you get free TP's

but yeah, i guess no one likes the idea, lol
