It doesn't help that the adjacent countries are Canada (no offense) and Mexico (offense). Travelling is expensive as balls.
There are some pretty nice parts in Mexico, although I haven't been there since 2005.
The touristy parts. Most of the country is bad.. Plus you'll shit blood if you drink the water.
