pistol is easy and I agree with the knife, it is alot harder. a friend of mine said he found a knife pistol defib ranked server so maybe look for that and also maybe the larger the better.

Try running through karkand with your knife out (don't use anything else) for a few rounds before you resort to stat padding.

Proud to say I finally got my expert knife badge!   Actually managed to kill over 20 people with the knife in that round.  Sneaking up on large groups of prone people helps out a lot.  Also watch for medics reviving, the guy that is just revived is a little disoriented and is prone, an easy target.  Also, always have your knife out.  Its such a blast working on this badge.  I may just go a round with knife only just for fun sometime.

I got my basic knife badge hassle-free, and here's how I did it:

First, I searched for servers with the map Strike At Karkand
Then, I joined one that had very few people in it, like 1-5.  (THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO DO!!)
Then, once in the server, if there are not enough people to "start the game," start chatting with the people there, make friends.  This isn't really needed, but it helps pass the time.
Once the game starts, just hang around the places you see battles at.  If the game just started, it'll be at the city entrance.  Run around with any kit (I reccomend not using sniper, spec ops, medic, or engineer because they have less armor than other kits) with your knife out.  When you see someone, try and knife em.  Becuase it's a server with few people, you'll have all the time in the world.  Also, try proposing a knife fight to people.  It's always fun.

And that is the hassle-free guide to the basic knife badge!

Large maps with lots of players work well too. then there are tons of snipers just asking to be knifed

What I did was spawn as USMC and went to town by the south flag in a 24/7 Karkand server.  Make sure you're a medic so that you can heal yourself.  Whenever you see someone spawn give em a lil shank in the back.  It's cheap, but it works for your purpose, LOL.  I got my knife and pistol badges in the same round doing this.

I actually, using my strategy, got my knife and explosive badges in the same round.  Seems that on small maps, people tend to fill jeeps to capacity, making tantalizing targets for suicide car bombings

Stats padding..... Frankly, the same idea has been on my mind for some time.  I'm trying my best not to exploit the game system and I really don't want to.  However, I have tried a hell lot of time..... and is now frustrated.......

By a player stuck with the knife combat badge.

After a week or two of frustration trying to get that damn badge, I tripped over the perfect strategy...well, at least it worked for me to get my basic knife.

As USMC on Sharqi, at the row of buildings between the west of the TV station/east of the construction zone, I watched a teammate get tossed sky high after tripping a claymore at the top of a ladder.  The sniper up there (who I was already targeting for my first knife victim) evidently didn't notice, because he never even budged.  So I promptly climbed up there and shanked him for knife kill #1.  Easy enough.  Following that, I figured I could just wait prone at the top of the ladder for the next unsuspecting sniper to come calling; but after several minutes of nobody showing back up, this strategy obviously wasn't working.  Plus I was getting bored.  Anyway, just as I was about to descend to get back into the fight, I saw a lone wolf spec ops go running below, obviously on his way to C4 our assets.  So I jumped down and parachuted to right behind him.  RIP, Mr. Spec Ops...you're victim #2.

And then....   *** LIGHT BULB ***

I climbed back up the ladder, and proceeded to do this same "stealth parachute attack" about 10 more times, without so much as taking a single bar of damage.  From above, I could easily pick and choose lone wolves as they went by.  Since I had a bird's eye view, I could simply choose to go after the solo-dorks that had no one else as backup.  Now that I think about it, I guess I can probably go back and do my veteran badge now too with the same strategy.  Maybe even on another map.

Interesting strategy.  although I'm a bit leary of waiting on the crane due to the risk posed by snipers.  that map is packed with them.  and although you can't see them the sniper on the water tower can always see you.  not that it matters for me as I already have both basic and vetran Knife, but just a fair warning to others.  and besides if the enemy takes the TV station they will almost always put at least one sniper on the roof which will put an end to your knife tactics pretty quickly.

(Yay, my first post )

I found the knife badge a lot easier than the pistol badge, largely cos i SUCK with the pistol!

To get the knife badge, play as medic for the "invincible" factor, and do 1 of 2 things (a mix of the 2 works best):

1: get to the main enemy base far away from the main conflict. Few people spawn here, so u tend to get good ambushes, plus a lot of noobs tend to asume that if ur in their main base, u must be friendly... Once there, u need to hide, keep ur eyes open and try to get behind people, sprint up to them and stab! (a good map is (soz i forget the name ) the one where the USMC hold the coast, with a carrier behind them, and the MEC have 2 lines opposite the USMC, includin an airfield)

2: (the desperate approach ) On any map u like, run around like a crazy f**k using just ur knife, get behind people, or jump walls n stuff when u know there's enemy on the other side and go crazy with ur knife. Spot snipers and get behind them (watch for claymores) and try and use UAV to get behind enemys.

I used the 2nd method and managed to charge and kill 4 men purely through the element of surprise...

U have to keep ur cool when u get to knife someone, its all to easy to sucumb to adrenaline and miss ur opportunity...

Good luck!!

(For my first post, it was a bit of an essay, so apologys all round!!)

OMG let me tell you something...I didn't manage to knife!!! I got 1 knifing which i didnt even remembered i did it...
One day i went to wake, saw enemy crawling, went there and got my 7 stabs...
I was lucky, but tomorrow of this day, i made 7 stabs in one round, twice! and in the middle of the next day, i made 52 stabs after only 1!

knives aren't easier, because u can do the same as with knives, only that u don't need to be that close and if he sees u, u still have a chance especially if u've already hit him.

here is how I earned my pistol and knife badges

Kubra Dam
Played on MEC as Sprc OPs
Jumped into plane, hauled ass the thier hanger, Halo'd in.
Would'nt you know there sat a commander just standing there picking his nose.
Plenty of places to hide waiting for hin to re-spawn, just to stick it to em one more time. After I was bored of the knife I whipped out the ole trusy side arm and executed him where he stood.

Word to the wise to all you USMC Kubra Dam commanders.............find another place to hide

You go in these servers EA will reset all your stats, points, badges, everything. And possibly others in your clan with "suspicious" stat lines as well.

I got my expert pistol and expert knife without playing in any servers like this, it is possible.

EDIT:holy crap I can't spell today.
