From a personal standpoint, I don't see any of the Republicans being viable at this point. I know in 2008 I was qiute interested and was torn between McCain and Obama (probably because they were both left-handed; one of us was going to be presidente!) If you combined about 3 of these Republicans together, you might have a better shot.
There is still time for other candidates to decide to run.DesertFox- wrote:

The irony of guns, is that they can save lives.
Some new small PAC put the video out. Probably a troll more than an attempt to influence the campaign. Funny nonetheless.Democratic leaders and others on Tuesday reacted angrily to what they characterized as an offensive and sexist YouTube video that tries to portray Los Angeles City Councilwoman Janice Hahn, a Democrat, as friendly to gang members.
And they called on businessman Craig Huey, Hahn's Republican opponent in a July 12 special election for an open congressional seat, to condemn the video and demand that its makers, Turn Right America, take it down.
"The Internet video in question is inappropriate, highly offensive and has no connection whatsoever to the Craig Huey campaign," his campaign said in a statement.
The video portrays Hahn with red eyes and uses pole dancers to accompany its hip-hop-style message delivered by actors portraying gang members and using language many people would find offensive.

President Weiner to China: "Those pics were of me and I sent them."

Meh, people are allowed a personal life. That he lied in a fit of stupidity? Not sure about that either TBH.
Fuck Israel
Elected officials are not allowed a decision-making process/judgment that is that flawed. The regular public certainly is.
As to the presidential race...the primaries haven't even happened yet, ffs.

Disagreeing with a politician's foreign policy =/= the guy having the judgment/decision-making process that says it's OK to send pictures of his crank to people via Twitter, immediately after one of his colleagues just quit/got fired for sending a picture of himself shirtless.Dilbert_X wrote:

People are allowed a personal life, even if that means doing stupid stuff on the internet.
Bush's stupidity went waaaaaaaaay beyond foreign policy fiascos.

However, when you are entrusted with a position like that, you aren't a "general public" person any more, and the "regular rules" no longer apply. You are held to a different standard. And you fucking know that going in. And your decision-making in your personal life must take that into account. Again, reflective of his poor judgment. The same judgment he uses/used as one of the 535 most powerful people in this country. Sorry. He gets no slack.
And we get it. You hate Bush. You will always hate Bush. You will always find a way to make a dig at Bush, regardless of the topic or context. If Bush had sent pics of his weiner to chicks from his cellphone, it would be relevant. But he didn't, so it's not.
We're not talking about Weiner's policy decisions. Haven't once mentioned his politics. I could care less.

Bush did a lot of lying too, and not just about the 'pretzel incident'.
Fuck Israel
Again. We get it. You hate Bush so much that you'd probably refuse sex from any woman with pubic hair.
Enough already. Not pertinent to the discussion.
One of Weiner's colleagues from his own state delegation was sent packing for what? Sending cellphone pics of himself shirtless to some chick.
What did Weiner do subsequent to one of his own state delegation getting booted for sending cellphone pics of himself shirtless to some chick?
He sent cellphone pics of himself shirtless as well as pics of his fucking crank to some chick.
Fucking crackerjack judgment on his part. That is the problem. Not that he has a personal life. I could care less if he hangs from the ceiling with bananas up his ass for fun. That's his business. If he starts tweeting pictures of it, it becomes the public's business, and he has to go.

This is what people outside America don't understand:
A congressman commits a minor faux-pas, tells a fib and suddenly he's right up there with Hitler and Charles Manson.
Another politician lies to the public, lies to congress, starts two unnecessary and horribly costly wars, destroys the countries reputation, collapses the economy and the dollar and all we hear is "herp derp people make mistakes, thats why pencils have erasers dood, time to move on"
And I'm not just talking about Bush, a lifetime of fraud and corruption and crime is apparently eclipsed by a blowjob - in the case of Clinton.

President Obama said (talking about weinergate) "If it were me, i would resign." President Clinton said "If it were me, i wouldn't be surprised."

Jesus, you sure hate Bush. You mean to tell me that you though the US to have a favorable reputation before Bush? Ok Dill. I don't think Bush exactly crashed the economy or the dollar either. When did he say the pencils have erasers quote?

Clinton's issue wasn't a blowjob. It was perjury. That would be lying under oath during an investigation. That is called a "felony."Dilbert_X wrote:

In the United States, for example, the general perjury statute under Federal law defines perjury as a felony and provides for a prison sentence of up to five years.
And as 13rin said, nobody--nobody--is comparing Weiner to Hitler or Manson...that would be asinine. Wait...I guess someone just did.In the United States, where the felony/misdemeanor distinction is still widely applied, the federal government defines a felony as a crime punishable by death or imprisonment in excess of one year.
Weiner should've done what his colleague from the NY caucus did in roughly the exact same situation: step down. Would've shown sound decision making and would've probably kept the door open for him to run for mayor of NYC. At this point, his ridiculously poor decision-making has torpedoed any political career he could've hoped for from this point forward.
To keep beating the Bush drum shows how petty you really are about this. The country's reputation wasn't that hot before Bush. He didn't "collapse the economy and the dollar" (he's clearly too stupid to do that on his own, right?...or the fact that the POTUS simply doesn't have that kind of power on his own...).
You disagree with Bush's foreign policy decisions (shocker). Many others agree with them. That's not the case with Weiner. Nobody agrees that it was a good idea for him to take a picture of his pecker and send it to some woman, then lie about it, right after another NY congressman got busted and resigned for sending a shirtless pic of himself. Some may disagree that he should resign over it, but nobody thinks it was sound decision making on his part.

I don't think the GOP field of candidates could be anymore depressing. Paul might be the exception, but the chances of him winning are pretty damn low.

The perjury aspect was late in the piece, after a good deal of GOP and media hysteria which kicked off the investigation in the first place IIRC.
I disagree that choosing not to have a foreign policy is good policy. You disagree with Bush's foreign policy decisions (shocker).
Reacting in a wild knee-jerk fashion after the event is not policy.
And I've yet to hear anyone say that Bush made good policy.
