My friend drives an M5. That thing is NOT suited for city driving. The car shakes and jerks if you move too slowly.
it is a hairdressers car
like the Z4, Audi TT, Posrche Boxter, etc. it's a car your wife drives, not you

I don't get the 1M hate, ITT. Sure, it's the entry level M and it can't compete with the higher M's but it's sure as hell better than a Camry or Civic.

There was something about the way they drove that that made the car look like it's actually a really boring car and terrible at that type of driving.
Exactly what I was saying.ghettoperson wrote:

for a fatty you're a serious intellectual lightweight.
Judging by the video, Camm - if the stability control and everything is jumping in so much to where you can't even get a decent inertia drift going on then yea, it likely isn't the best track car.
Judging by the video is not the best way to judge the car.CapnNismo wrote:

You're right of course. I'll wait for the inevitable Top Gear test.Camm wrote:

Someone get toiletsex in here, and grab some popcornCapnNismo wrote:
Look at the weight of the car - it's a fatty. It's over 1.5 tons and it's essentially the size of a 4th gen VW Golf. Sorry, but you can't have a small car that is that fat and consider it a good track car. Newer BMWs and Audis, while being very advanced technologically, are still shit.Camm wrote:

I changed my post and I'm agreeing with you. I did some thinking and took a look at other figures for similar cars. Foot removed from mouth.
But what I'll say is this: BMWs and Audis have no soul. They're overly luxurious, overly technological machines. They're also extremely heavy... I've never enjoyed driving large and heavy vehicles, though, so maybe there's too much personal opinion coming in here.

I'm sure it is a blast to drive. Hell, anything with more than 300hp and that kind of 0-60 is likely a great drive. But it's still a fatty and it's still a new-gen BMW. BMW is better than Audi, though. I loathe Audis and VWs with a passion... I can't stand automotive discussions with Austrians and Germans - they're all hung up on Audis and VWs. I want to kick them all in the teeth.

BTW Camm - I love how the two of us are playing tag between this thread and the "What tech did you buy" thread. XD
