carry on
So I've been flying around trying to figure out how to create a binary star ever since I saw one (and accidentally became one without knowing quite how it happened), when I ran across this:
center; large 'dark matter' star; acquire by becoming a planet during a mission with the dark matter asteroid, and absorb the thing; no real bonuses other than creating a black hole if you die.
Normally a large star has eight planets max. Add another star to that and it' can be a ten planet system. If the plus two bonus carries over into trinary and quaternary systems, I'm assuming two more stars after that gets you a fourteen-planet max. Ambulate around with that for awhile and you'll have fourteen colonized planets with some pretty hardy people on them. Not that the missions are particularly hard, but it would be kind of nice floating around as the THING on the right.

found this after respawning
e2:
found a dual-red binary and bashed one of the stars until it shrunk to a blue
e3: Achievements state that you can form a six-star cluster. Thanks, game for not telling us how.

it's an interesting game, although a little annoying sometimes
The most annoying part for me is that I can't figure out how to form a binary star system, let alone the six-star cluster promised by the bloody achievements.
Bleh.
Bleh.
level up planets until they transform press ] and [ to cycle which plane you're looking at
Huh, I figured there was a way to pick up an existing star.
100 deaths later...
Endgame star cluster (six reds, ten populated worlds). Pretty much any mission for stars can simply be blown through with brute force. All I can do now is level up the planets and do the arbitrary missions, but I cba tonight. Game needs galaxy mode, because the black hole upgrade just reboots the universe within a few minutes. Note the original dark matter sun on the bottom left of the cluster.
Got tired of the music after awhile and just looped Billie Jean. Works perfectly.

why would you make such a boring game look so nice
is it that good looking, though? it looks like one of those games awfully guilty of a console-style Vaseline filter
(i haven't played it full screen)

No, it really is a beautifully made game. Taking a two minute jet across from snow peaks to the desert in your tiny jet is just awesome to do.Uzique wrote:

And yeah, the game did get pretty boring. Personally, I just used bolomod, made the game more fun to fuck about in.
Not great, for me a fun time killer, micromanaging nightmare ...
Just look at Crysis.Lucien wrote:
