Time flies, doesn't seem a minute since the Tirolean spa had the chess boys in it
All change, don't you know that when you play at this level there's no ordinary venue
It's Iceland, or the Philippines, or Hastings, or... or this place!

well we have state AND private... even more choice, in a sense.

and the state dentist doesn't just force you to do the procedure he wants, or whatever is most cost-effective... you get a choice...

and you still have to pay for state dentists, anyway, just a LOT cheaper (e.g. root canal on state is £40, on private £250)

well yeah like i said earlier... i went to private for an emergency-slot inspection and x-ray, and that was £100.

that would probably cost you £12 on state and the service is no different... ain't a lot of difference between a private xray and a state one

just one is subsidized and the other hits you in the wallet

Hard to believe the private ones are keeping their business going if it's more than double the price to go there for the same treatment.

I just regurgitated a tiny piece of food when I sneezed. It smelled fucking horrible, about to gargle with Listerine.

A lot of people get subsidised private care as part of a job benefits package, the thing you're paying extra for normally is the reduced waiting times with private.
I'd type my pc specs out all fancy again but teh mods would remove it. Again.

$200 out the pocket vs $20 co-pay.

Sure my one would argue that paying for insurance would make that up, but I got a MRI done with zero copay a year or two ago... Those are like $1100.  And I got it done on my schedule, were I wanted it done, not left it up to the state.
I stood in line for four hours. They better give me a Wal-Mart gift card, or something.  - Rodney Booker, Job Fair attendee.

Most decent airlines give it. Helps get you seen on a tight schedule.

thats THE new study in the category of: 'I dont know what i want to do, but i have to pick a study so ill just do this one'
It used to be law, but it shifted to this and general social studies.

Expect a LOT of drop-outs in the first year

Every study has close to 50% dropout rate in the first year.

yeah there's a conception that the state has long queues and a more rushed service... which obviously has some truth, because there's so many more waiting patients and so much more work to do. plus there's all sorts of bureaucracy about meeting targets - as inevitable when you answer to someone higher in the management-scale (most private dentists are self-owned practices). i coulda got in with an NHS state dentist tomorrow morning, but because i was in so much pain and this particular abscess has blown up so much, i opted to spend 5x the money to save 24hours. nothing wrong with state, though, in my opinion. no criticism here.

Pretty cool location.
But because the study ahs gotten so large you might have to go to roeterseiland sometimes because the lecture halls in oudemanhuispoort are pretty small.

Agreed on that, sometimes it's just nicer skipping the line. I've never had to wait when I had an emergency though, then again the last time I visited the state doctor for something like that was more than 6 years ago.

I figured that if you're in real pain they won't make a big deal out of letting you come in the same day, but I don't know if it's the same with doctor/dentists.
