what you're doing is some weird reverse ad hominem attack where you argue that the people who enjoy a shitty piece of work are all shitty because they enjoy it.

one's tastes are not necessarily a reflection of one's mental capacity, that's why things such as guilty pleasures exist.

Honestly, if you found out someone refrained from reading something they actually enjoyed based on YOUR opinion and not their own would that make you think more of them? Or would it make you think they were a mindless follower?  So, either way you end up looking mindless to somebody...might as well enjoy yourself.
