I doubt he has much ability for rational thought right now tbh. Sometimes, if you are so consumed with grief, you don't really see things the way they are. I have had those moments in life when everything is kinda cloudy and muffled and the only thing you know for sure is that the person you care about is dead. Isure hope nobody was judging how genuine my grief was based on some incoherent thing I may have said at the time.
