My family all works in construction. What do you think I did during my summers in high school?
congrats, my grandfather started his own construction/property company too when he was 19 and is now a millionaire with lots of properties and many plots of land, as well as experience in building and a foreman. i have pictures of myself as a kid in a massive hard-hat, several storeys up on scaffolding. aren't you special and unique?!? but i still wouldn't say that because of that i can fucking build a house. you're a massive twat sometimes.

Anyone know of a superhero/villain that wears a labcoat? Going to some club night with that theme and the people who i'm going to talk to are proper comic book nerds. Need something simple that wont get them pointing out that i'm wearing the wrong shade of tie and that in marvel issue blahfuckingblah he was actually wearing this unless he was in a parallel world.
I'd type my pc specs out all fancy again but teh mods would remove it. Again.

you just look like a geek in a labcoat so you're kinda exempt from the hero/villain categories.

though i'm sure examples of mad scientists or megalomaniacs abound in comic books

Damn, I think I actually prefer waking up to pages of EE Chats full of "Your thoughts, insights, and musings on this matter intrigue me" than whatever the hell happened last night.

Can you change a tire? Can you change your oil? Could you put up a piece of drywall? Dig a hole without becoming instantly tired? These are simplistic jobs that you undoubtedly look down upon but I bet you couldn't perform any of them. If your life path was one that led to riches then you could probably get away with just paying other people to do everything for you. But you're not.

For someone that rails against the specialization that college has become, with their one-dimensional engineers and science people, you sure as shit seem to have turned yourself into such a highly specialized college graduate that your career choices are rather small. Irony.
I don't know how to do any of those things. I don't know how to work a till or turn on the burger-frier at McDonald's either.

But, you know, I could always spend a couple of minutes on Google and find out. It's not that dificult.

i've been in financed fulltime education for 3 years, why would i want to work at a supermarket? brownie points?

and coming from the guy that has failed every job application for the career he wanted until he pulled a personal string...

you're a fucking moron sometimes, kampf
How have i failed every job application?
I never had to pull a 'personal string' for a job, only for the location.

I have never failed a job application, so far i have been hired at every job i have applied for. And whats wrong with taking a students job on the side even if your education is financed?
I did, i know many other people that did/do it. it gives you a little extra cash so you can buy the shit that you want when you want it and meet new people. I honestly dont see a probelm with that.

Me too.  I'm in the rat race and will sprint to the finish... Ugh. I fucking hate it.  However I've immersed myself in many hobbies.  Pilot's license will be next for me.

Yea... I want to be able to rapidly travel the country avoiding roadways and airlines.  I don't think I'd step up past the single engine fixed wing.

Rotary would be badass, but to actually fly an awesome one, wouldn't ever happen and cost way too much.  Pops said the military easily dumped  200-250k in training on him over the years.

promise me you will at least work on an instrument rating later on.  too many people get killed because they get a private license and go flying around the country.  thats why bonanzas are called doctor killers.

Yea... Learning VFR only is dangerous and could lend me being stranded somewhere until the weather clears.  Thought about that a bit.  Flown in a Cherokee Comanche as a passenger some time ago and with pops flying in alaska, I understand the importance of instrument ratings.
