My VoIP worked fine ingame for weeks.  Then when I installed TeamSpeak, I was no longer able to use VoIP.
Even when I enabled it in the BF2 options menu, the sound shows red in the test bar.

I checked to see if my mic was being muted, but it isn't, and it still works fine in TS.

I have a headset/mic combo that is plugged into the on-board sound jacks on the back of my system.
All sound drivers have been updated to current available.

Sound is SoundMax-onboard a Dell MB.

Any ideas?

Go here: http://support.dell.com .
Enter your service tag # and download the latest drivers for your sound card. If it still doesn't work after that then the only thing I can think of is that your sound card only supports so many channels.

Thanks,
I have installed the latest drivers, but it made no difference.

Any suggestions on settings within BF2 and TS?

Thanks for the help, but no luck.
Does anyone else have integrated (SoundMax) sound and use TeamSpeak2 and VoIP together?  If so, help me out with settings.

By the way, if anyone is looking for a great deal on a sound card (like I am), I saw on Slickdeals.net that Amazon has the Creative Sound Blaster X-fi Platinum for only $131.00 and free shipping.

Dude... try this

I know these topics may not address your issue directly but try the fixes anyway, they are your standard TS troubleshooting procedures.

If this doesn't help check out the teamspeak forums in further detail, there is a ton of useful stuff there, just search "BF2" or "Battlefield 2".

For the most part switching between Direct Sound / Wave sound can be the difference as with changing the mem priority of TS.  Also, make sure your  boost gain on your mic is off , if it gets too high on the threshold it could mess with your BF2 VOIP.

Let us know how that works out

Thanks much, I'll try them as soon as I get home.  I'm at work and prefer to post on the clock.

As far as the BF2s forums...I have read extensively and was surprised to see that no one else has posted with the same problem.
I have a feeling it's just a simple setting that I changed that has caused it, and everyone else is smart enough not to have messed with it.
I think I'll just pick up the X-fi listed above.  I am not affiliated with Amazon, Creative, or slickdeals.  I just couldn't believe that they're selling it for $40 less than everyone else, and comes with free shipping.  Maybe Creative is getting ready to release a new model and is trying to get rid of their surplus before it hits...?

Unfortunately using VOIP with Teamspeak when you have onboard integrated audio is a crapshoot. Sometimes it will work just fine but most of the time it doesn't work. Teamspeak will work just fine however. I've also tried to remove teamspeak to see if that did anything and it doesn't. I don't even have it turned on during the game most of the time. I believe it's an issue with BF2 and intergrated sound drivers on mainboards.

Sorry.. I know I have the same issue also. I wish I knew the solution.

Thanks Kilroy, at least now I know it isn't unusual.

It could be that your soundcard (driver) only supports mic input to one program at a time. You may just have to use either TS or BF2 VoIP. The price on the X-Fi was pretty good. If you have the cash, I would pick it up. If nothing else, your sound quality will be better and you will offload the audio processing to the card, freeing up your processor to do more.
